So LPB AND R2 is a FLOP even tho it sold over 1m? I didn't know that over 1m is a flop now =(.

I love the black and whiteness of your thinking. Would Halo 3 not have been a flop if all it did was a little over 1 million? Get real here. No one is talking about profitibility. We know both games turned some money in for Sony. They just didn't turn in enough.

That's nice. I have words from some Sony dude that says Resistance 2 was supposed to go toe to toe with Gears 2. Something's telling me maybe they feel it's a bit of a flop, considering it probably won't even pass Resistance Fall of Man, let alone approach any Gears of War game. Being excited about something, and hyping something are entirely different things. One is a true emotional response, and the other is a choreographed act. The prior is genuine, and the other disingenuous. There can be a fine line between being a legitimate fan, and behaving as a shill. However if your just creating a thread to promote a game rather then to actually discuss said game. Yeah your disseminating propaganda, and that is never viewed as a good thing. Many forum members feel you have insulted their intelligence.

So when the blow back inexorably happens. It is damn near guaranteed when you sell the moon. Those you disrespected gladly take the time to shove your face right back into your steaming pile. This is actually what you deserve. You need the lesson in humility, and the community needs to see you being made an example of.

Honestly it isn't hard to avoid the blow back. Do not make spam, or pep rally threads. Discuss something about the game, how the game plays, the marketing, the value it brings to the console. Make sure its a thread worthy or reading, and isn't a billboard on the information highway.

Avoid as another poster put it absolutes. There is nothing wrong with might, maybe, or in my opinion. Stating opinions as facts only comes off as tactless, arrogant, and disrespectful to others. Opinion and fact are not interchangeable. Imagine if you went to a store and bought something that was marked a dollar, and the cashier tries to charge you three dollars for it. You are irate until the cashier says the price was just an opinion. Then my friend your insulted.

There is nothing wrong with being excited about a game, or sharing your enthusiasm. What is wrong is working as a corporate shill, or a propagandist. In which case you deserve the bashing. You have insulted others through your bullshit, and you deserve the humiliation to come when your bogus claims fail to materialize.

PS3 fans are getting desperate and so they have to promote their games on internet forums. Hopefully someone is visiting these sites and giving you guys attention and hopefully more people end up buying PS3 consoles and PS3 games.

More PS3 owners will mean more software sales and PS3 price cuts will follow in the near future and attract more buyers.

Potential PS3 buyers need to be aware of the games on PS3 system because in game stores the Wii and XBox 360 system and games are being pushed more than PS3. There is not as much advertising PS3 systems and its games in game stores.

Unfortunately the uncertainty of the world economy is adversely impacting on PS3 console systems and game sales of PS3 have been lagging in comparison to the other systems which have bigger install and better attach rates than PS3.

If Sony were to think it's a flop, then it's a flop. They would obviously be the deciding factor. A counter opinion is worthless against the people creating, marketing, and putting it on the line with the game.

Hype devalues games... It makes LBP, R2, Motorstorm etc worth less because they can never live up to expectations. My favourite games of all times are games which I didn't or refused to hype up.
