my intention when so called hyping games isnt for the sake of sony or sony sales, its for my own interest purely on the game itself, not how the game will do in the stores, because to judge the quality of a game based solely on its sales number would be very narrow minded. Even the reviews shouldnt be the key determining factor.Anyways If i just get an urge ill check out a thread or something, i never look at sales charts to be honest. As i could care a less about how they are doing. I just dont like one sided numbers thrown in my face without any attempt at reason. its like look at these numbers i dont know what it means but its a big number, and its higher than sonys. so sony stinks.

i think your idea of smug is marely debating that the 360 isnt better, which the suggestion in itself too is pretty smug.

and as for dgcs comment, peoples wallets still need to recover before theyll even consider getting a playstation 3, most people stick with one console for the whole generation of a console war, but as the 360 came out way before the ps3 there are probly some sony fans owning a 360 solely cause it was the only next gen console on the shelf for a while, also as i said before many were probly pushed into getting a 360 by a friend even if it wasnt their first choice so after those people recover from the hit too they will probably be getting a playstation 3 as well. I dont know how constant 360s stream of anticipated genuinely fun games is, but if they hit a dry spell for long enough, some sony fans very likely will come out of the woodwork.

Good arguement, but didnt the Sega saturn come out a good 6 months before the playstation 1? if thats the case then why did the saturn fail?

Was it because the saturn was hard to develop for? so is the ps3.

If i'm honest i think sony took microsoft for granted and did not expect the 360 to sell so well considering that the origional xbox sold quite poorly.

I think the saturn failed because it was designed to be a 2d games machine... But the times changed.

lol, you are surely kidding right ? The Saturn even was a dual cpu system (meaning it had 2 main processors ... unfortunately in a time when multi-thread programming was barely even heard off and thus devs found it very hard to use this architecture) and most of it's games ofcourse were 3D.

no one cares about your games yet you all want PS3 games, think about it.

im not worried about sony going out of video games all together one their budget is exponentially greater than segas ever was but also. they have the ps2s success to fall back on. whether they do good or not because the ps2 is out there racking in some cash for sony i think they are gonna push through to ps4, regardless of the markets cooperation.  sega never had any success to catch them from falling.  also ronster id be surprised if sony execs were naive enough to believe that alot of ps2s success wasnt from early release as well as late departure. Although i guess technically dream cast was the first in that one.
