I watch it because there are no real tv alternatives. They broadcast the show on Xbox Live what does that tell you? I really do not have a problem with them except they do no review games as much as they should or used to. Now it is all worthless previews cheats for 360 games(If I see one more Tsquared Halo 3 segment I am going to take a bat to the tv screen.

They need to bring back Cheat and Filter as separate shows that way they can focus on more games.

Of coarse, Adam HATES Nintendo, you can tell. Whenever X-Play is on the first thing I hear most of the time is him putting down the Wii, over, and over, and over, and over, again.
They'll give an X-box game a bad review on gameplay and Camera angle, but still give it freaking 3 stars?
But if a Wii or Gamecube game has the same problems, it get a 1? Hopefully a 2?

We're in America. Xplay is an American show. Have you see the PS3's presence in America?

We tend to lose the forest for the trees when we ourselves own a PS3 in America. We must realize, we are in the vast minority. Most people own Wii60's most people play Wii60 games, and most people want to hear about the Wii60. When Sony starts making headway in America, American journalists will start to pay it more respect. Until then, watch what you want. You're just one onehundredth of a rating point afterall.

Anyway, Webb is a Nintendo Fangirl, which you should know if you ever watched the show and Sessler is about as unbiased and wise as "journalists" in our immature thirty something industry get.

So, you are saying fable 2, gears of war, and bioshock (especially) didn't deserve to win GOTY awards? I think your problem is that you just don't like seeing the xbox praised. And the fact that most hardcore games are m-rated has to do with realism and the fact that there aren't alot of e-t rated games coming out anymore. Realism. If every ps2 game had it, people would be making excuses that it wasn't hardcore cause all the kids only play the m rated games on the system.
And about the nintendo hate: it's pure bullshit. I bet everyone has forgotten about the wii's launch. X-play highly praised the system, gave zelda a 5 out of 5 and so on. If you notice a change in their tune, maybe it's not bias, but disappointment. Maybe they have a freaking reason to be disappointed.


I don't think x-play is bias, or anything. I just think they've gotten boring, and too artificial.

Adam and Morgan weren't so bad back when G4 was still TechTV (before Morgan was "hot", before they destroyed a perfected good channel and replaced it with a perfectly lame channel). For the most part I agree with you about G4, but their Japanese gameshow stuff is pretty hilarious. And sometimes I watch Attack of the Show just to see Olivia Munn (but yes the show is annoying). I wouldn't suggest G4 to anyone who frequents here. Why would they need it? A ton of people on here know more about video games than Adam and Morgan, and that's their JOB.

You hit the nail on the head Zen. Before this generation started, X-Play focused mostly on the PS2 because that is what most people owned. Only 20% of the US next gen market owns a PS3. Even if you take the Wii out of the equation only 33% of the US market is composed of the PS3. I'm not seeing this bias, MGS4, LBP, Resistance 2, Ratchet & Clank, etc. etc. all got glowing reviews from X-Play.

G4TV is probably going to be going out of business by the end of the year. The smaller their audience the least revenue they will gain.

Well G4TV isnt' what it used to be. It is now just mostly appealing to young men in general, not just gamers and tech nerds like it used to. Now it plays stuff like cops, cheaters, and attack of the show. They're obviously trying to broaden the audience a bit.

Again, it's just about where the media goes. The informed gamers are 360 gamers, and the media follows that. The older, more experienced hardcore gamers have largely scorned G4 for some time, but the group of younger gamers who are really just getting into it are where the 360 draws its power from, and these are the kinds of people that the gamer media thus caters to, often at the expense of objectivity towards anything that isn't a heavily Western game, or a PSWii title

You see the same story pretty much everywhere nowadays, but generally the web sources (i can't believe i'm about to say this) are generally more high-class than G4, and their integrity is slightly harder to tweak with every shift in the wind
