Pro death.

This post said it all. Good job :D
i am pro death sentence.
Crime would be cut dramatically after news of one person been killed for murder, everyone would be too scared to take the risk.
Now they just think o well its only jail i get all my food paied for and i get treated like a saint. In England anyway. Why arnt they beaten? They should be punished not given items of luxury (Sky tv and double bed)
Notice how this poll is a lot closer than the Abortion one.

Well, the only civillised country that I can think of that uses the death penalty is the US (does Japan?)
US Murder Rate 2007: 5.6 per 100,000 population (16,929 Total)
UK Murder Rate 2007: 1.4 per 100,000 population (757 total)
The USA is a tricky one as the penalty varies from state to state i believe so that cannot be compared fairly. I dont believe Japan has the death penalty, i may be wrong though.
ive just checked and japan does have the death penalty so that would be more fair to compare to the UK

Crime isn't cut dramatically by the death penalty. It has actually been found to have no more of a deterent effect than a long prison sentence.
The reason they aren't beaten is because we are a civilized society, not a society where the police are given the right to abuse people. The punishment of prison is not a physical punishment as such its a social punishment - by being cut-off from society and essentially losing years of their lives.
