Sales of late ports are always lower if the game was out to another console for such a long time, than from a simultaneous release.

It's a matter of marketing, hype and perception by the people who buy these games, people on this site should have realised that by now.

Wii = 67-68m

X360 = 38-39m

PS3 = 34-35m

Prediction: The PS3 will surpass the 360 on weekly sales after it drops to $299 on all regular weeks (no big releases).

I also don't get it too that some here point that bioshock ps3 made poor sales while not stating that it was merely a port w/c greatly affects the sales outcome, same with eternal sonata.


see COD and Fallout3, they aren't port. PS3 version can sell, it's just that 360 has way bigger numbers but you still can't deny those PS3 sales.

I expect the 360 version to dominate in sales whether it comes out same time or later. Could be 2:1 or 3:1. The whole fanbase is on 360 and PC.

Same day release. They lost a hell of a lot of potential sales when they ported to the PS3 instead of same day releasing.

As for 360 exclusive, Seece, can you name me ONE occasion where a trailer has appeared on a console, and then the game hasn't been on that console?

Does it really matter to PS3 owners the game come out on the 360 a year ealier? would most PS3 owners even know that? remember us "online" gamers (who visit sites like this) are in the minority.

Just to prove my point, VGChartz (relatively popular and well known gaming site) has 35,000 members last time I checked. We are nearning 100 million home consoles sold, thats how much of a minority we are.

 

None the less, Bioshock (at least the 360 version) is a higher rated game than R2 and MGS4, and is on par with LBP. Of course I won't contradict myself, only the minority would know that.

 

 

How is this even nearly relevant? I do agree with you on BioShock being better than R2, but I personally think MGS4 is better. I also, actually, think BioShock is better than LBP. But that has nothing to do with the topic at hand. Yes, PS3 owners know it came out on 360 a year earlier. VGC is not the only gaming website on the internet.

Also, including the Wii in that is rather ridiculous, I think. BioShock has sold 2.6 million on PS360 on a PS360 userbase of ~47 million. This website has 35,000 members. GameSpot, IGN and the like probably have near a million. Even people who have been on GameSpot/IGN five times in their life know that this was a 360 exclusive to begin with.

Probably a 360 exclusive. I don't care either way. i can only buy so many shooters.

I predict it will be PS3, PC and 360 releasing months later does not work



PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.

Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game
