Swedish people really really like music games! BTW, how many people in sweden? 8 Million or something?

Very similar to Norway's top list in sw, how's lifetime hardware sales of each platform in Sweden now?
Here its currently (roughly) at;
360: 78.000
Wii: 125.000
PS3: 125.000
DS: 260.000 (a little uncertain of this number, scattered trackers).
PSP: 135.000 (also uncertain, handhelds are poorly tracked here).

These numbers are lower than I would have expected. :(
Then again, we don't have that many people to begin with.

This is invisible text!

I live in Sweden and I rarely buy games here. It's much cheaper to buy games from online UK stores, even with shipping costs (especially lately with the weak pound). Retailers here charge quite high prices above normal MSRP...

The same situation happens in Portugal, at least Nintendo's prices suck there (I think it's the importer's fault, it's not really Nintendo).

The winner takes it all

With a total sale of more than 280.000 units SingStar ABBA has topped the charts in the Nordic region.

Nordisk Film Interactive has been the official distributor of Sony PlayStation consoles, peripherals and Sony-developed software in the Nordic countries since 1995. The launch of SingStar ABBA has not only had huge success itself but also increased the hardware sale. E.g. has 44 % of the games been sold including microphones and more than 35.000 with either a PS2 or a PS3.

Sweden sings along
SingStar ABBA is quite a crowd pleaser in Sweden and the title is already the fastest selling SingStar-title ever in Sweden. After only three weeks no less than 52 000 copies had left the shelves and entered the living rooms of Swedish customers. Before hristmas SingStar ABBA quickly knocked down ”World of Warcraft: Wrath Of The Lich King” from the top of the multi format sales chart.

“We knew beforehand that the Swedes were craving for SingStar ABBA, but this is mind boggling,” says Erik Grohman of Nordisk Film Interactive in Sweden.

Good reviews
Two hours after the announcement of the title back in November no less than fifty dailies had put out the news on their web editions. And the reviews were good. The typical score was no less than 4 out of 5 no matter where.

“With SingStar ABBA we have seen a lot of reviews and mentioning of the title in magazines that usually doesn’t write about video games. This shows that our hard work to reach out via non-traditional media really has paid of, says Daniel Gustafson, PR Coordinator, Nordisk Film Interactive in Sweden.

And as far as the future goes hopefully this is a sign that that there is a whole lot of truth in the old ABBA-saying: ”The winner takes it all”.
