OT:

I don't own a psp, so it is a good portable media player with some interesting games.

My Wii is, without question, my kids' favorite. Most of the Wii software I buy is for them. Just thought I'd pitch in there, to help the logical fend off the ridiculous. It's true, the Wii is awesome for kids (and others). Big shock, eh?

The PS3 has a very interesting lineup of exclusives - especially Uncharted, LBP and upcoming games like GT5, Heavy Rain, Yakuza 3 and White Knight Chronicles.

EDIT: I forgot the 360. The 360 has...er...Kameo!

The PS3 plays Blu Ray movies.

The Wii has funky motion sensitive controls.

The DS looks cute.

The PSP looks very cool.

The Playstation 3 has Blu-Ray which is very cool.

The PSP has some great SquareEnix games I would like to play and beautiful graphics for an handheld.

Edit: PS3 will have the new Team ICO game of which I seem to covit even though I know nothing about it.... I normaly don't do that.

PS3 has free online, so I could play warhawk online for free without anything extra... whereas on 360 it will cost me $150 due to router+ Live

PS3 has Blu Ray, which has movies I want like Dark Knight, Iron Man, and Batman Begins that would go great with my HDTV

PS3 is the most reliable of the consoles

edit- if I didn't already have about 30 games for PSP and 15 games for 360 that I wanted to buy, I would get a PS3. There are alot of games there XD

DS - it has two screens and the stylus! I need to say more?
PSP - umm... nice graphics?

PS3 has Blu-Ray and has the best first-party support (next to Nintendo). Also the PS3 seems just like the PS2 in terms of gameplay. I'm not saying that as a bad thing. If you've ever played a PS2, then you already know how to play a PS3 because nothing has changed. I seriously don't mean that in a negative way even though it sounds like I do.

360 has the best online (I think because I've never been online with a PS3. Plus 360 has a lot of FPS which is good for people who are fans of those games. They also have a lot of JRPGs which is good for people who like those games. NOt to mention they are cheap now.

PSP: Sorry. I've only played one once and it was a long time ago, so I'm not familiar with it at all. I do remember that the game I played (Burnout Legends) was fun.

*cough* *clears throat* Cherry picking is the act of pointing at individual cases or data that seem to confirm a particular position, while ignoring a significant portion of related cases or data that may contradict that position.

Like it or not all consoles are essentially expensive electronic toys, you play with them, you interact with them, and you have fun.  And the facts lead to the position that 360 appeals to the kids and if it appeals to them then isn't it "awesome" for kids?  Typically kids like/want things that aren't for them, things like M rated games much like GTA, people put labels of not for kids on it and of course kids wanting to emulate grown ups and wanting to be older want these things, the console that has this image would generally be the 360, which for some reason all data, stats, and facts point in this direction yet, I'm the one that's "ridiculous" when logically it should be the other way around =P
