Forums - Sales Discussion - Zack and Wiki to Be Budget Priced - Samba De Amigo for Wii Coming in Feb

I source the list that was posted by GoNintendo here

http://gonintendo.com/?p=23050

Looking through it there are two things that stand out for me, Samba De Amigo (my favourite dance and rhythm game EVER).  If it just an exact port of the under-appreciated DC game with the same song list then I am in heaven, I absolutely love this game, now THAT is how a dancing game should be done.  Hopefully you can use two wii remotes instead of Wii Remote and Nunchuk because the cord isn't long enough IMO.

The second is a much bigger effector of sales... Zack and Wiki looks to be budget priced, if that is the case, then bring on the sales for this game.  It already looks fantastic and is receiving a lot of attention on the net so far, I don't know how that will transpose into sales directly but I don't expect it to sell poorly if it has a budget price... i expect big things now actually.  It will certainly be a 'legs' game so if it does well or not should not be judged on the first week of sales.

Wow, I would have bought it at full price too! So I'll be able to get Mercury Meltdown and Z&W for the price of one full priced game? Deal me in!

My name is Frasman, and I approve this message.

However, if it is an exact port of the Dreamcast game, I'll skip it, since I own the origional.  If it has enough extra content then I'll definately jump aboard.

Great news. I hope budget Wii titles do really well, and encourage publishers to release cheaper games on the system.

Some other interesting tidbits in that list:

 - something like twenty titles hit on the 13th of November. Ouch.

 - Manhunt  dated 1st November (who knows...)

 - what does ST DT mean? Both Galaxy & Brawl have it? Special Edition?

 - Table Tennis hits 1st October

 - Space Station Tycoon delayed till Feb '08 (as previously reported)

Nocturnal is helping companies get cheaper game ratings in Australia:

Almost FishyJoe...Mercury is 19.99 and Zack will be 39.99. That's 59.98. One full priced 360 or PS3 game. Still, not a bad deal at all.

I think RE4 is convincing developers that budget titles can do quite well.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

Samba de Amigo?! I LOVE Samba de Amigo! It's one of those rare Sega games, on the vein of Space Channel 5, REZ, etc. :D

The November 13th thing disturbs me. Do these exec sit around and think of ways to make there game not sell? Its the same with the prime-week. November 12 is Galaxy.

The only thing that I can think of... Nintendo gave them the heads up that there will be more consoles these weeks, meaning new Wii owners will probably buy more than one game. But that is reasonable, and game companies are proving themselves to be anything but.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
