You are an older member here, and you are over exaggerrating the hype of PS3 games. Outside of the crazzy men, hype are pretty well executed.

LBP, MGS4, KZ2 (the beta owns every other shooter I've played), Heavenly Sword, and Resistance 2 all lived up the hype of being excellent games. And some even surpassed expectations. What in the world are you talking about?

I'm not saying anything about Killzone 2, but people played the beta for R2 too and hyped it as the most amazing thing ever.  There was thread after thread touting R2 was going to kill everything and change gaming based on the beta.

Now that the game has released, it has come and gone and proved to be good but nothing spectacular.

I'm not implying that Killzone 2 will be bad in any way at all, I'm just going to wait until the game is released to start getting excited about it.  If I can get my hands on a free demo I'll gladly play that and be happy, but not going to hype the game.

And the exaggerations continue.

But I am truly and utterly sick of Killzone 2.

The PS3 has been out for over 2 years now. And ever since, PS3 fans have been looking to one game or another to save the system - Lair, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, and so forth. None of them have done it.

But that whole time, Killzone 2 has been there, and been hyped as one of these savior games. The difference is that those games had the decency to actually be released and forgotten about. the whole time, KZ2 has been there, and the hype has simply gone into overdrive.

This is a sequel to a mediocre game that sold around 2million copies on a console with a user base well over 100m strong. Yet somehow fanboys have picked it as The Game of The Forever. We're constantly getting new KZ2 threads forcasting its brilliance, and how its the bestest graphical game ever. It's gotten so bad, I fear there will be mass suicides if it gets an 85 on MetaCritic.

Its this mixture of hype and delusion and time that has made it impossible for me to see the words "Killzone" without uttering a groan.

You can hate the hype.  But, if you are a FPS fan, you need to give the game a chance to prove itself.

The thing that makes Sony fanboys look worse than any other fanboy on this site is that they're almost never right ...

The Wii games that tend to get the most hype and receive outrageous predictions sell so well that it is difficult to be overly critical of anyone who made such outrageous predictions. An example of this is Mario Kart Wii ... a prediction of 15 Million units sold would have seemed insane before it launched, and now it looks like it will break 20 Million easily. Certainly, a lot of Wii game predictions have been wrong but there is enough bad predictions that Wii Fit or Wii Music would flop that it is difficult for anyone to be overly critical ...

To me there never seemed to be as much hyping of upcomming XBox 360 games as any other platform which could be explained by the XBox 360 having been out for a year longer, built a decent library and having a steady stream of good game releases that XBox 360 fanboys never needed to hype upcomming games as much.

I've got a few things to say

1. I'm not sick of how much hype its getting in general, i'm sick of how much its getting from people who never played the original Killzone. I previously owned killzone (traded it in) and currently own Liberation for the PSP. They have no right to be hyped, YOU DIDN'T EVEN PLAY THE FIRST ONE!

2. I can see how sick you are of all the hype, I was the same way when SSBB was being hyped to hell. It was ridiculous how much it got.

3. I am a PS3 fanboy, and I don't need some game to "save" my console. Thats just a stupid thing to say. It doesn't need saved, it will sell. It has blu ray, it has amazing games.

Well the problem is with this, people are really bothered by the hype of this game, is because the first game in the franchise was pretty average and now people are wondering, how the game that average in the past could get so much hype. It's not what i think but what people think. I'm still excited for the game.

I have played the game, and I liked what I played. Sorry for being excited about it.

No more gifs, anymore, we don't want to be excited, because it'll make people very angry.
