Forums - Nintendo Discussion - MH3 Engine, what are the possibilities?

This is a development question.

What exactly could be adapted from the Monster Hunter 3 engine? Only Action RPG's?

Could Capcom now arguably make tons of different styles of game from this engine? FPS, Third Person Adventures, etc.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

who knows, we'd have to see more of it to say anything. maybe 3rd person shooters.

Resident Evil spin-off for Wii? Who knows with Capcom these days.

I'd only want to see Resident Evil again if it went back to the days before Resident Evil 4. I really don't like the direction they've gone with the series. Bring back the zombies.

I only want them to put some DAMN SHADOWING in the engine... MH3 has NO shadows in the monsters and environments, that sucks... The game looks too much fogy..

I'd like to see an open-world, Elder Scrolls-style game for Wii using the Monter Hunter engine. However, I don't think Capcom usually licenses out their middleware, and I can't see them doing a game like that.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Don't care if they licence it to other companies. Aslong as Capcom start making better original / core games for the Wii because of it.

If MH is possible, don't be lazy Capcom USA, just copy the engine and make some decent games.

Nintendo x Capcom rpg would be great!

A Street Fighter Action RPG would be nice =)
use nunchuck to move and wii mote for combos
(move the wii mote in a quarter forward circle then press A for a Hadōken :p)
