Forums - Sony Discussion - Kaz says "1.3 million unique users are playing Little Big Planet"

http://www.g4tv.com/ces2009/press_conf_detail.aspx?video_key=35871

This is the actual video from Howard Stringers keynote where Kaz talks LBP. The original quote came from Gamespots' live blog. Kaz clearly states that 1.3 million users are playing LBP. No mention of 1.3 millon being sold. So, if 1.3 million users are playing, we can assume LBP has sold a lot more than 1.3 million copies.

We can't really assume that it has sold much more since most people that would play LBP would play it online, and let's not forget this also counts rentals and used/borrowed copies.
But hopfully it's sold alot, I can't wait to buy it.

Hey, can someone embed it for me? Thanks!

You do realize you're posting on a website that tracks sales, right?

^Yes but there's always the possibility that it's overtracked.

That's good news, though there are the fact that multiple accounts can use the same copy, I think the fact that many gamers are playing without internet connection should make VGC number reasonable

Weird, because in another thread people were UTTERLY convinced that it is impossible for that many people to be online with the current amount of copies sold according to this website (being 1,65 million).

And now, we can't assume it has sold much more because most people would play it online?

How the wind changes according to the news :-/

exactly,,,the guy was talking about online figures and NOt sales ,,,just watch the dam conference and you ll see.

That, plus this all this;

is evidence enough to prove its indeed number of people playing online.

is it true that more than 1 person can play online with 1 copy of LBP or that 1 person can somehow be 2 unique users? If only 1 copy can count as 1 person then it could easily be undertracked. I have a hard time believing that 1.3 million out of 1.8 million are playing it online especially when you consider the type of game it is and how it was marketed.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X
