To be clear - this week means nothing in any region.

Japan has the holiday boost still. Even Europe and the America are still enjoying the last holiday spirit.

In a couple of weeks the weekly sales of the 360 will stabilize on 240K (giving it 9M sales before holidays 09) and the PS3 will be at around 160K per week.

Prediction made on 11/1/2008:

Q4 2008: 27M xbox LTD, 20M PS3 LTD . 2009 sales: 11M xbox, 9M PS3

if it wasnt for japan 360 would have 100, 000 lead, if trends continue by the end of april 360 will have 9 million lead on ps3, and by the end of the year a 10 million lead possibly more.
