Forums - Gaming Discussion - Sony stealing yet again from Xbox Live?

Apparently people at Games Digest saw something called a "Gamercard" during a live demo of Unreal Tournament 3 on the PS3 and it seems very likely that it will be very similar to Xbox Live's Gamertag system.  Now my question is why isn't Microsoft getting patents for some of this stuff that is quickly being stolen from Xbox Live?  Achievements, Gamertag, basically anything new that Microsoft comes up with gets stolen.  Sad.

Sad for Microsoft, but I bet Sony ain't complaining...

If Microsoft doesn't protect their own innovations and technologies then it's no one's fault but their own.

Now why they haven't done so is another question.

Yea screw sony stealing things from microsoft! Next they will probably steal the feature of being able to listen to music while playing a game!! Cant they come up with anything original?

leo-j has a valid point.
How is Xbox Live "new", other then implementing PC features to the console market?
PC gamers have been enjoying the same features as Live, and more, for years now.

I still don't get what this whole "steal" craze is this gen. PSN is quite different then Live, and Home takes it in a radically different direction.

Every xbox fanboy says the same thing, " Sony steals everything from microsoft", and I find that extreemly annoying and funny at times. More features for the ps3 woot!!

Dual Analog Sticks.

Gamer stats are not new. PC games have had them for years (and for free).

It's not stealing, they are all just using common technology.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

I agree leo-j. Everyone knows Sony steals their stuff from Nintendo.

Don't really see the point of this thread. It's kind of like saying Microsoft "stole" from Sony because they added an HDMI port to their console. *Out of here before this thread flames up faster than a napalm bomb*
