The Top 20 LIVE Games of 2008

Last year was a great year to be an Xbox 360 gamer as is evident by the quality of titles that Xbox LIVE members were playing. After a few days of number crunching, here are the top games for 2008 based on Xbox Live connectivity.

How is Call of Duty 2 on the top list for the original Xbox? It wasn't made for the original xbox, wtf?

It is Treyarchs version of cod 2 ( big red one). IW's Cod 2 was much better which was released on x360 and pc.

ah ok but why wouldn't they state "Call of Duty 2: Big Red One" on the list? seems confusing. also suprising that the demo for bad company beat out the full game

Keflings turned out to be a monster. It's funny. It's a very average game (graphics, sound, gameplay), that it seems almost anyone could have made. (Of course, UNO pulled in a ton of cash as well).

If you put out the right game you reap the rewards. TMNT arcade was the best selling game last year, and lookey lookey ... Castle Crashers took that spot.

Glad Halo 3 rules 360 land. I don't believe guilty gear xx beat out Street Fighter anniversary edition on the regular xbox. No one ever plays Guilty gear online...unless they may be counting the people that bought the game on xbox live...

Doom 3 will never die. Viva la Doom 3, keep giving boston steamers to the competition. Bring on Doom 4.

Mind you, Uno was a pack-in so it's numbers were inflated slightly. Some games were really close (Top 3, Worms, Doom, Bomberman Live, MBO, UMK3) but some were off pretty bad (Mega Man 9, N+, Rez HD, Bionic Commando: Rearmed). Overall, I think the XBLA project did pretty well going head to head with Major Nelson's numbers, but it's still (certainly) imperfect. What I think has killed me is sample size....It's still kind of small, at 2.5 million users.
