Forums - Gaming Discussion - HD: LCD or PLASMA - which is better for gaming? what do you use!

plasmas are better for gaming i have a panasonic plasma. The newest LCDs has 120hz refresh rate and plasmas come standard 480hrtz, so they are better

i have a lcd, never had a plasma tv

I went for LCD just because I use it mostly for gaming and I didn't want the burn in to be an issue.

Just got my first HDTV: 40" LCD Toshiba 1080p.

Sony has some 240Hz Tvs and other companies are supposed to release them soon so they are catching.

Does the Wii looks good on a 42in HDTV? I'm going to buy one right now, I'm not sure if it is LCD or Plasma.

When I had my Wii I had played it on a 52" rear projection HDTV and it looked great. I would imagine it'd look fine on a 42" quality set. Note, I was using componant cables and am unsure if there is much difference with just using composite.

LCD by far.

For gaming I have no idea, from a general viewing capacity my understanding was at the smaller end (below 42 inches) LCD was better and that for larger sizes Plamsa outperformed LCD for quality of image.

That said I haven't looked at this in 12 months so a lot could have changed either way.

There is a smaller chance of burn in on plasma than LCD, although I suspect you'd have to play a serious amount of the same game/HUD display to encounter it.

I tend to look for this info for image quality for film playback vs gaming as for me the number 1 issue is how good will my films look - I kind of assume that if the film looks good a game will too.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

oh great, thank guys =)
