The majority of the audiences for the Wii and 360/PS3 are different and people just need to accept that.  The sooner they do the sooner both camps can be happy with the games they have and the ones they're going to get.  Carnival Games wouldn't be a million selling juggernaut on HD consoles and the same goes for games like CoD:WaW on the Wii.

I don't actually disagree with this, I just want to point out that World at War is on its way to selling a million on Wii.

Will take a while, though.

Do you really believe, even in two years from now ( and you have my permission to call me out on it) that COD: WaW will sell over a million copies on the Wii.  Even WW sales.  Really?  You honestly believe that?  I mean I understand loyalty and love for your system and all that but really.  The audience is just not there I am afraid.  If the Wii is only system they own and don't even have a decent computer to play it on, then yes they may buy it, but outside of that, its not going to happen...

@RPGJock

Hi, I have a fairly high end PC and a PS3, I also have a Wii.

Guess which platform I bought WaW for?

Take a guess why I bought it for that platform?

Can't figure it out?

Because I knew it would be fun and I followed the game enough to know it would be CoD4 in the Pacific Theater of WW2, I have CoD4 already so why would I by an upgrade(or down grade) to that game. I figured "heck I like MoH controls so why not?"

Unlike most people I have nothing against WW games, I do have something against bad games though; and WaW for Wii isn't a bad game, I enjoy the campaign very much.

Honestly, that sounds like a good idea.  But you admitted yourself, you wanted to try something different then simply buying a new version of the same game for the HD console or PC that you felt you played before.  I hate to tell you this but you are one of the rare exception to this.  Just like you were looking for funnier controls, some people were looking for best looking version of the game.  Look at the sales, the 360 and PS3 are the preferred consoles.  And that not even showing the PC sales, which honestly, I bet got most of the sales as the game was born on the PC.  And I never said that the actually game was bad, I am just saying that the audience for the game is very limted because of the various factors.

My arguement is that you can't believe you speak for everyone, I speak for myself. We could both look at the sales trends of FPS's on the Wii platform and compare the same marketing muscle behind it, but in the end I'm certain we would draw different conclusions.

My conclusion is that the target demography for FPS's on the Wii were simply confused, this game is going to rely heavily on word of mouth, friends telling friends.

Is this game the inferior version? Yes it is by content and presentation.

Can this version hit 1 million sold? I believe that this game isn't directly competing with the HD versions market space, simply adding a new interface and point to playing the game differentiats it in the same way the Wii differentiats itself from the PS360PC. Which would reemphasize the ever green nature of Wii games, the reason why nearly all Wii games seem to be ever green is because of this word of mouth exposure of the software.

So can it hit 1 million? That's a phony question, the real question that is hidden behind it would be: "Does this game desearve to hit 1 million?" That is the most trollish question ever.

But no, I don't believe the game will reach 1 million, if it does - that would be a suprise to me but not unexpected.

So I looked back at how this thread is going and I'm surprised at the comments.

The first batch were the typical "Your full of ****," remarks, but as it went on they began to run the gambit.

I seems I need to address a new topic about Wii third party. Sorry to anyone I didn't respond to.
