I think a price cut in Europe will have huge affect on sales in that region. I also believe at some point in time Japan will come around and contribute more to the PS3 sales than they have. I think PS3 will do fine in America but has lost to the 360 in that region.

He is very right wing Nintendo, no hope for that one. PS3 will do fine in Japan overall, hell just this year RE5, SF4, Yakuza 3 and FFXIII will do more then nicely for the PS3.

 

 

 I'm being realistic, PS3 will never get close to Wii in Japan

 

 It'll stick to selling ~ 1/3 of the Wii there. It will sell in the higher end of 5M (possibly 6M), while the Wii reaches ~ 15M.

For a comparison...

GC vs Ps3 = 4 vs 18M

N64 vs Ps2 = 5 vs 20M

Saturn vs SNES = 3.5M vs 17M

 

The Ps3 will be the closest to the winning console in Japan ever...

 Actually the combined total of all Playstation consoles, 1,2 and 3 is currently around 245 million, by the time 2015 comes around the toal should be around 255-280

Sony: 140million ps2's since e3

ps3 nearly 20 million

ps1 104 million

= 264 million

if we add psp in its almost 310million consoles.

May I add the ps2 and ps3 sell around 1.4-1.6million consoles a month world wide.

Its going to take a very long time for the wii to beat that, and when the ps2 is $99, and ps3 is $299? What then?

 If you expect the Wii to last to 2015, then you surely expect the Ps3 to last to 2012 (anything else would be ridiculous), which would (probably) mean it seeing 6-7M sales. Still better than any previous has been.

 The ps2 has sold over 140million consoles according to sony at e3, so im sure consumer sales wise its hit 140million.
