:-p my friend reccomended age of conan, is that any good?

I'm not sure, but according to gamespot it's great.

I heard Age of Connan was full of bugs and it was just released early, but at a trial I had no problems. Also, Boobs.

WAR is also plagued by some problems but it is more heavily focused on PVP, but a LOT of people who actually played it said it jsut got really boring really fast.

WoW, polished far beyond a shiny glean, it practically radiates its own light it's so polished, ridiculous amount of content and you can be sure people will be playing it. Also a great RPG in its own right. It's also made by Blizzard, if that counts for anything with you.

Here's a list that was on Digg not too long ago about top 10 MMORPG's: http://www.tumeroks.com/top-10-most-popular-mmorpgs-of-2008/

I'd suggest WoW though.

I must warn you ; once you start there's no going back.

For a newcommer to the genre I would recomend World of Warcraft ...

The other MMORPGs tend to be focused on one element of the genre (PvP, RvR, PvE, Roleplaying, etc.) which is very enjoyable to a particular group of gamers but World of Warcraft is easily the best all around.

I would recommend not going MMORPG at all. At first it seems appealing, but you soon realize it is kinda like playing Final Fantasy (the first one) with a chat program attached.

I like the free ones... personally.

Play some of the many MANY Free MMORPGS before you drop some money down.

Or one without subscription fees.... like Guild wars.

Better to see if you like MMO's and there weird

"Real time turnbased" combat.

Where you get neither the enjoyment of action based combat, nor the relaxing planning of turnbased combat.
