Imposing your own line of thought is probably more wrong than people spending their money the way they see fit.
Okay, many people will not think this a good "waste" of money, but who are you to say what "intelligent adults" are supposed to do.
If you are such an intelligent adult, you would know that people do what they want to do and that everyone has a different opinion and a different way of life.
The fact that you condemn and judge these people, make you a less than intelligent person, directly conflicting with your own statement.

Very good point. It does put an end to the speculation. Unfortunatly, the subject has now decended into people judging how others spend their hard earned money.

How is being charged for a service thats free for computers, ps3, and wii the same as givng someone an option to buy more clothes for their avatars.

While it has been noted the "ching" sound isn't even related to a purchase, it should also be noted that even if it were, the values, frequency, etc...all lead to incredibly dubious speculation and highly suspect validity.
