Another point those that think PS4 will be blueray still are probably kidding themself. Theres a great chance it be a new format.

PS1: CD

PS2: DVD

PS3: Blue-Ray

etc...

 

but who knows but if 2012 is the next release of consoles or later then most liekly a new format will come.

 

I don't think that there will be another format after HDDVD/BR ...even now broadband is widely available and by 2012 i think that almost anyone in western countries will have access to some form of broadband (think of WiMax, HSDPA etc etc): you want a game? you'll download it... no more scratched discs: everything you've bought is in your personal DB (Steam anyone?) and you can retrieve it whenever you want (saving HD space)

 

oh, almost forgot: you want a movie?...you'll download it ...You have an "old" BR/HDDVD disc? ok, you can play it in the multiformat drive (or better: you can buy a stand alone drive for 40/50$ )...

 

my two cents: NO new format...and (probably) NO drive.


I think we will see a lot of improvement on the download-area, but I think we will be using the Holographic Vesatile Discs(15 Terabyte) and Protein-Coated Discs(300 Terabyte) around 2020-2030. Dont know what I'm talking about? Wkipedia search it.


Yep I was about to say that about the hologram discs, but hmm Protein-Coated aye. I'll go check it out. thanks.


 they cant keep the protein-coated discs from dying. The discs only last about 2 - 4 months. Great to have 200TB of space but what happens when it all dies a few months later. Plus they are working on Electron Discs which will have near unlimited space.

Never would have guessed that Soriku considering its and S-E game!
But seriously nothing points to it going to the Wii except them saying there "shifting" resources but that might be for DQ and KH so....oh and FF:CC doesnt count.

Haeresis hasnt even been officially announced only the name was patented in May2007 i think.

And i will also enjoy DQ on my DS and if FF goes to Wii2 then I GO WHERE FF GOES aswell as getting a PS4.

Nintendo may not "do" TGS but Square Enix certainly does show up at TGS ...

I don't think anyone is delusional enough to believe that third parties will not be showing off software for 75% of the console market at TGS simply because Nintendo doesn't show off their software.

I definately misread Soriku's post i now relise my mistake.KH3 will most likely be shown or announced for something.

The amount of titles shown at TGS will be fernomanol and alot of them will be stunning.
