Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Whoa, my sister just got a new Wii

Out of nowhere, my step father hands my sister a brand new wii, with the Wii play that comes with another wii mote. hours later, i set it up for her and play a few games, you know just to keep her company (shes only nine). Just wondering, is there a better location to put that sensor bar other than on top of the tv, so you dont have to be super away from it, thats the only problem. And, is CoDWAW turned out good for the wii? Never really trusted an FPS game on the Wii, but it might just be me. For now, i'll let my sis fiddle around with the mii channel and i'll go back to playing PS3, thats just me.

Wait for the conduit for a fps on wii. Or pick up red steel for under 20 bucks.

red steel sounds like a good idea, im only gonna be able to play it for another week before i leave my moms house lol.

From what I've heard, COD:WaW is a great game, but it just lacks splitscreen multiplayer. You can position the sensor bar either on top or on the bottom of the TV, and change it's location settings in the settings menu for the Wii. You can also change the sensitivity for the sensor bar, which makes it better for certain distances (like being farther or closer to the TV).

The Conduit should be great when it comes out, so I'd keep an eye on that.

Since its your sister that have a Wii you should buy her Nerf N-Strike, its a FPS ON RAILS. Im only the minority here but since this is casual we're talking about you should buy her that.

And also I recommend QoS Wii version, sorry to say this but QoS 360 version  sucks in multiplayer than the wii version and the Wii version have splitscreen...

don't get red steel, seriously. It's got mediocrity written all over it. If you want a good FPS get Metroid Prime 3, COD WAW I also hear is a pretty good adaptation.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

Do you not have much room behind the TV?

to function properly the remote needs to be at least 1 metre away from the sensor bar, which is a tiny distance so you shouldn't be too close, hell my room is a box room at the moment, the TV is at one end of my bed and I am at the other (so my arm in the middle is about 1.5 metres away from the screen) and it works fine.

Medal of Honour: Heroes 2 is supposedly a pretty good shooter for Wii, as is Red steel from what I have heard (except for a few flaws)

Metroid Prime 3 is amazing too.

CoD: Waw for Wii seems to be a love/hate thing, but it might just be the usual schitzophrenic nature of traditional game reviewers doing a Wii game... which probably means it is a good game.

Personally the only shooters I have are Metroid Prime 3 and Resident Evil 4: Wii, both are incredibly good and well worth a purchase.

Its a FPA, BIG DIFFERENCE. You only shooting 3-5 enemies at a time as opposed to 5 or 6 enemies every screen.

whatever, yushire. Nobody cares. If somebody wants a FPS on wii, I recommend Metroid. How often to people ask "what's a good FPA for wii?"

Metroid prime 3 is my opinion the best game on the console, so if he was looking for an FPA I'd recomend that.

However for 20 dollars red steel is a blast.  I bought it on launch date and I absolutely think the game is amazingly fun.  Especially if you got a big screen tv you can play on.  The zoom feature, sword fighting, and wii aiming make the game just more "fun" in general.  The environments and music are a few standouts

Now I don't recomend the game over 20 bucks because it takes about 10 hours to beat and for fps the multiplayer is lame.  As well as the game is fairly mediocre.
