Forums - Nintendo Discussion - DS's L/R buttons broken

My DS Lite's R button is about to go. it's not working 100% of the tuime. I know this becuase this is my senond system that this has happened to me with. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else. And, if anyone has a solution of repair/replacment option.

I've had my DS since June 2005 and I've never had a problem with the buttons.

@ClaudeLv250: I've heard this problem froma few, but Nintendo has rearly heard it

@Soriku:Does it really work?

No. That's BS. How would blowing into it do anything?

It happened to my original GBA, supposedly because the units are made in Japanese factories, but the L and R buttons were made in China, in a supposedly lower quality factory. The R button basically collapsed down, and only by pressing hard would it work. I wanted to get an SP anyway though.

I've had no problems with my DS Lite...is it still under warranty?

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Sadly, it's two months after warrenty. Luckily, I cleaned it and it's working fine. the thing is I fear that it will break in the future. But, the China thing, that's good to know.

This happened to me, the L button on my lite broke cuz it got overused in MP:H. I'd reccomend sending it into nintendo if it's still under warranty. they fixed it up real good. i also mentioned that my screen was really scratched up and they replaced it or somehow fixed it aswell. if it isn't under warranty and it doesn't work after trying to fix it yourself, I believe nintendo will fix it for a small fee if you send it in.

my touch screen has been becoming less and less accurate with time. I have a crack in the left hinge. I feel like the d pad is becoming less responsive.

Unfortunately, these things just happen with time

you could try calibrating it.

I did try. No matter how I calibrate it part of the screen is off.

nintendo are very helpful with things like this, there will be a charge but its usually very reasonable. They will replace any machine, regardless how damaged it is for £45 here, and i think things like broken hinges and screens costs £25, probably less if its still in warrenty.
