Forums - Nintendo Discussion - In three weeks MP8 will sell one million in North America...

Mario Party. 1 million. North America. Where is my gun?

And people think Japan is casual heavy, but to put that in perspective Mario Party 8 will be at a 25% installed in american Wii's in less than 13 weeks of sales. To put it into perspective though Zelda should hit 2 million by New Years in NA. And Galaxy, Prime, or Smash (though late to the game) might beat them both.

What does this mean for the whole market?

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

A little less than half a million.

Mario Party 8 has sold approximately 500,000 units in its first 2 weeks in Japan and will easily break 1 Million there by the end of the year ...

Metroid Prime 3 will be a monster in North America and Europe

I really hope so, I hope I don't have to wait another 10 years for the next big entries to the series.

For the record Zelda has already hit 2 million in NA. Its at about 2.8 million counting GC sales. So it should break 3 million in NA by New Year's, not 2.

Good point, I didn't think of that.  1.86 million is still almost 50% all Wii owners, nothing to shake a Doku Stick at.

I don't see what people have against Mario party 8. People need to realize that FPS and action games aren't the only ones worth playing. I doubt the entire MP8 consumer base is made up of 10 year olds and grandmas buying it for their 10 year old grandchildren. Gamers like a wide variety of games.

I am just joking around with the hate.  I guess I didn't make that clear.  Sorry.  I own it.

fair enough, steven. However, ALOT of people complain about MP8 doing well and use that as an omen of how terrible the future is with Nintendo in the lead, and how stupid their userbase is. Their userbase are gamers as much as any other, they just aren't stuck up adolescent gamers that need to shoot and or stab something to have fun.
