the Wii and Ds are selling because of their games, their NINTENDO games!!

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

 

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

 

E3 2010- Tape runs out

1)After what I've experienced right now, I dont think I dont believe that theres  a definitive console right now. Or better yet, a console that caters to hardcore or casual gamers alike and certainly the HD consoles satisfy the hardcore gamer. 2)BTW all loyal 360 fans out there, enjoying a source like engine graphics of Fallout 3 with 2001 lips animation and simple graphics of Lego Indiana Jones thats been bundled in every 360? 3)What about a singleplayer Burnout paradise without multiplayer splitscreen? I could take a splitscreen racing action if not the game leads you to career mode right away and the menus arent simple unlike Burnout 3 and revenge... 

4)For you HD console fanboys out there, just cut the crap. You're not funny and you dont know you're talking about! What you all say about good things about HD consoles and negative about the Wii are just BS! Theyre consoles there purpose are just the same to play games if you dont like the console then dont bother the ones that enjoying it. Anyway, i dont want to partake in this debate thread discussion here anymore because of the BS. Im only posting in news threads from now on. 1) Lmao now you are saying yourself that the Wii doesn't have enough hardcore games enough to satisfy enough hardcore gamers something you denied a lot.

2) OMG Fallout 3 use lips animation of 2001 = Whole the game feels outdated confirmed XD. And what about Lego Indiana Jones MS have stated that they want to approach the casual market bundle a X360 with Lego Indiana Jones?

4) Oh yes the opinion of HD console fanboys are all bullshit! 90% of the game industry agree with them the same game industry who gave SMG a great almost perfect score something that you agree with

well my personnal experience has been (as in when ive bought the game)

2006: Wii sports, twilight princess, NSMB, nintendogs, metroid prime hunters

2007: mario strikers charged football, metroid prime coruption, phamtom hourglass, super mario galaxy

2008: dark conflict, batallion wars 2, SSBB, mario kart, animal crossing wii, disaster day of crisis, fire emblem radiant dawn.

so for me its been a steady level of quality but a rise in the amount of games that has interested me

I agree with parts of your argument and parts of the post.  I have a Wii and a 360.  They're both great.  However, I think Nintendo could be walking a fine line in the near future.

To say that there is no good metric to judge Wii games is a bit of a cop out, and it may lead to a slippery slope.  If quality is continually sacrificied, and I believe it has been recently, the Wii could become the Atari 2600 of this generation -- mountains of shovelware and disenfranchised gamers of all types.

Graphs aren't needed to demonstrate that Nintendo isn't the developer that they used to be. This is the first console generation that I didn't pick up any Nintendo system however it is not due to a lack of quality, it is due to a lack of originality. I don't want to see the same recycled ideas from previous console generations spiced up with a new controller. I want genuinely new gameplay mechanics and genre expanding ideas from the developer that is fully capable of doing so.

this post is pretty sad, how could anyone dislike geometry wars, better yet fall asleep.

The first two graphs have nothing to do with Nintendo, since they show the amount of 90+/80+ games on each system. We all know that this is mainly caused by the lack of third party investment on the Wii. A fair comparison would be to show 1st party Sony and MS games vs. Nintendo. I think the difference will be very small.

The second graph only says something about the AMOUNT of quality games, not about the actual quality. Your own graph already shows that 2007 had a higher amount of quality games than 2006, so there's no linear decrease at all.
