By VGChartz data, Mario Kart Wii is now the best selling game within 52 weeks from initial launch ever.

It did it in just 37 weeks.

Let me put that again. Mario Kart Wii has in 37 weeks, sold more than ANY other game has sold in 52 weeks, during the last 2 generations. It is likely that this means, Mario Kart wii is the best selling game (in 52 weeks from initial launch) ever.

2nd place (previous 1st place) is Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas at 12.15M

3rd place (I believe) is Wii Fit at 10.74M

I'm not usually a fan of milestone threads, but this is damn much bigger than Wii going from 49.1 to 49.2% Market share.

well mkwii did have the benifit of a close ww launch. but impressive none the less.

Yeah the sales for this game are just insane.

Well...

1.25M for the next two weeks, totalling it up to slightly above 14M.

Then,  ~ 150K weekly for 13 weeks = ~ 2M

So around 16M. Roughly 1/3 more than GTA:SA

i think you should put the amount san andres and wii fit sold in those 52 weeks in the first post(since the graph doesnt work)

Now that is going to be a tough record to beat, for any game.
