Not the best Wii game according to the original reviews, but the best Wii game according to everything else. Well, almost. If I was on a desert island with only one Wii game, it wouldn't be this. But golly gee it entertains people. At family Thanksgiving and Christmas parties, the Xbox provided entertainment for me and and about 4-5 relatives, none adults. With the Wii this last Thanksgiving, this game by itself provided entertainment for 15-20 different people, ages 3-54. Interestingly...

The amount of people who played it was about only 2/3 of the people there, and this was considered a small crowd by normal standards. And for the most part on my mom's side. With my mom's side alone and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, and grandparents, the amount of people would easily reach around 150. Christmas parties usually mean around 60-70 people. The next one is on Sunday.

Just imagine if all those people were there with Wii Sports available to them. There are 4 Wiis that can possibly be brought as well.

So yes, this game deserves it.

Sorry Mine Sweeper doesn't count. not for any stupid arbitrary reason either. MineSweeper and X games don't count becuase they are bundled with the OS. When people are buying their PC they are getting the OS with some games with it. So it's the OS that matters. Minesweeper is irrelevant to the function of the PC or OS. Where as WiiSports is a game designed to be played on a game console.

wii sports its good game i think i was going to buy it if i had a wii and it wasnt bundled with it but i dont think it can sell that much

If Nintendo unbundles Wii Sports tomorrow and it stays unbundled for another 5 years.

As good as SMB was/is, it's nowhere near the system seller Wii Sports is.

With a 45% attach ratio in Japan it probably would have beat SMB unbundled eventually anyway.

Super Mario Bros showed the world what console gaming was.

Being bundled with almost every Wii console except for Japan helps this game significantly. Game bundles FTW.
It does not matter if the game is bundled with the console. The price of the game would still be factored into the retail price of the console.

this thread is crazy. Almost every gave has been bundled UNOFFICIALLY by retailers at some point in time in some country.

I've Seen GTA: SA bundles, MGS4 bundled before the official bundle come out.

Hell even Nintendo DS and Horses (Sad isnt it).

Back on topic, Wii Sports is what sold the Wii. Do you really think Wii would be so damn popular without this game? It be just another nintendo 3rd place in the shadows.

EDIT: if you want to play this bundled game, how about we disregard all the PS3's that have been bundled with a HDTV. Because surely alot of those people didn't get hooked by the FREE PS3 deal and they would of ALWAYS baught THAT SONY BRAVIA HDTV.
