White Knight sold through 54% of it's ~250k shipment on the first day.  For comparison, Rogue Galaxy sold ~150k first day out of a ~300k shipment.

WKC did great compared to the other HD RPG titles that came out this year in Japan.

Phantasy Star is a bit of a disappointment though. Expected higher.

[NDS] Phantasy Star Zero (Sega) - 63,000 (31%)

Very disappointing for Phantasy Star Zero. Unlike Phantasy Star Portable, it even had an Online Infrastructure, and yet it didn't even make one third of its sales. For some reason multiplayer games sell much better on PSP than on anything else in Japan.



*Phantasy Star Portable sold 217,000 on day one.

As I said before:

- WKC did good, 200K for first week would be very nice.
- Biohazard and pikmin: glad japanese people didn't buy "that" ...
- Bioshock: lol

These are sinobi (or Famitsu) numbers, not Media Create. ;)

But nice numbers for WKC. :)

Ah the real numbers, ^^ So White Knight has a chance to do over 200k, that's actually not bad. I also hope it has some decent legs so it could do 350k-400k lifetime ^^

Thanks for pointing that out.  They were posted in the Media Create thread on neogaf, so I was confused.

I was really close with my 140.000 prediction. WKC did okay, better than many people expected it to (there were many 50-90k predictions) but nowhere near the levels others here wanted - I mean those people who claimed this game is the PS3's FFVII and will do at least 300k within a week.

In short: okay sales for an okay game. PS0 sales however are surprising.

First day sales for other HD JRPGs in Japan:

ToV - 70k + 10k bundles

IU - 70k

TLR - 79k

BD - 43k

LO - 40k


Im seriously surprised that a new/unknown IP makes better first day sales than for example an established franchise like Tales of...

hoping for 200k first week
