What are the requirements for an xbox 360 game to join the platinum collection? For the longest time I thought it was based on sales but there are a few games such as Project Sylpheed and Bullet Witch which have had abysmal sales. Could it be that those games are under-tracked or is Microsoft simply allowing games to join without selling a certain number of copies?

I believe it is based on sales numbers over a certain period of time. For the first Xbox, I believe it was 400k over a 9 month period. I do not know what the requirements are for the Xbox 360.

As for the two games you listed, I do not see them on the Platinum Hits list, where did you see listed as platinum?

I always thought it was a million sales, but never thought more of it, but now you mention it I know that has to have some sort of error in it.

It could just be a way of saying "this game is old and because its old were selling it to you cheaper but the catch is were going to give you a silly looking sleve for your case that has platinum written all over it so you will be constantly reminded that you will NEVER own the original game packaging"

honestly I'm embarased to own platinum games. I only have some on the pc cos no one sees the cases so I dont care about them, but on a console the game cases are like trophies of my adventures and i am not going to have my trophies tarnished with unoriginal platinum lables!!! but I do love a good gaming bargain!

Slackers? Then why the hell arent' Halo 1, 2, & 3, or GeoW platinum hits? :P

Because they can still sell at higher prices over a year after coming out
