For God's sake, start working on GT5. The prologue is not going to sell that much anymore because its not the actual game. What do they mean didn't even start thinking about GT5? What are they idiots? I swear, they better release that damn game or I will be so pissed. Come on! 2010? Sony and the PS3 really need a game to increase their sales again. I am not waiting another year for this game. Barely anyone is buying the prologue anymore, so what's the point to updates?

Baahh!

I see no denial of an 09 release in there. Or a confirmation of a 2010 release. And nothing even hinting 2011. One person saying not 08, and not sure about 09. Another person laughing at 2010, and saying it will be here earlier. As for your "In early production phase" have you played Prologue??? If anything the only thing they are doing now is adding Cars.....

It won't be this year and nothing's scheduled for next. It may be out in 2010, but like I said, we haven't really discussed it yet.

So looks like the rumour about prologue being rushed out to just get a game out there to compete with the other consoles racing games could be true. The worrying thing is that Gran Turismo is the main franchise for Polyphony and if they havent given it any thought and nothing is scheduled for 2009 that basically could mean the game is in early development and could be even longer away. Could end up being late 2010 or even 2011.

 

 this article is outdated. kazumori said he was only joking about a 2010 release date. maybe the American version will be out in 2010, but the japaneese and european versions will be out in 2009 for sure

they have been working on gt5.. a few months back they said they had finished with all of the cars for gt5 :p

 That was almost 2 months before the new interview. The fact he went on to say what he did to a car magazine not a games magazine would most likely mean he wouldnt make a joke like that simply because readers of the magazine might not get it. Where as if he said it to a games magazine they would.

 

 

This "new" article/interview was done back in late september. Most magazine articles are done 2 months in advance of published magazine month (1 of these months is due to magazines being printed and displayed 3 weeks before the month on the cover).  Pretty sure it is safe to assume Q4 2009 - Q1 2010 release.

It's an old article.........thankfully. But the fact of the matter is that Polyphony Digital are the crown jewel of Sony's first party, Sony simply leave them to do what they do. Team ICO are also that way, Sony don't expect them to make a bundle of $$$ but that studio is there purely to keep fans happy so yeah, I would be shocked if those 2 teams ever had to be rushed. :P

my main reason to get a PS3(besides the PS brand)...but GT5 will most likely hit shelves late 2009
