On topic: I bought san andreas becuase they said it was the "best one" I didnt have a ps2 but did own a psp and the GTA psp games were awsome! San Andreas just sucked.

No. I don't buy games or consoles based on how popular they are. I buy them based on what is being offered for the console, or what is being offered in the game. Nothing else. I don't care how popular a game is, if it looks good I'll buy it.

Never, I only buy consoles based on what will be released on it and the funcionality of the consoles. I bought the WII with the Japanese release and no one knew back then it was going to be that populair. Plus I'm buying the PS3 soon and at the moment, the PS3 is not what you can call extremely popular but is slowely getting there. I just buy a console when I feel like buying one.

No not even that. I buy games because I like them, but not because they're popular, or else I would be ending up buying a GTA, God of War or any other kind of hyped game, instead of "not". For that I have more respect for games which are overshadowed by the mass, which in quality are even less good than the games which are basically being ignored by the public.
Super Smash Brawls for instance, a game which is so being hyped at the moment, is not really a game from what I would say I need to have it. It's a kind of game which normally doesn't interest me, being popular or not.

I do buy consoles in part due to their popularity, though it's not working out so well this time with the wii.
Highest install base = More Games = More Good Games
However, I never buy a game due to it's popularity. Tastes vary and sales are just an indication that my tastes are sometimes in line with others (though sometimes not).
