Well, there's no source here so I looked for one. Here's a real source with comments directly from the BDRA:

How many BD players in the UK?

A: TO OCTOBER 2008, TOTAL WAS 116,000 IN THE UK.

LOL.  Seriously?  116k?   How many years has it been out?

i dont even know how people can watch dvd's after seeing a good blu ray movie.

i dont even know why people spend money on blu ray movies. im probably biased seeing as im not really a technological person but i dont see the attraction. ive watched blu ray and yes when your first see it your thinking 'thats amazing' but after 10 minutes the wow factor is gone and i stop  being impressed

well, just buy a big enough TV, and it becomes quite obvious. Most people don't have a TV over 32", so there really is no benefit to Blu-Ray, however, if you have a big TV, then Blu-Ray is a must.

Or, if you are blind, then it doesn't make a difference.

Let's just say, I don't watch anything but HD content except for movies I can't get on Blu-Ray yet, and I couldn't imagine going back.

This.  Couldn't have said it better myself.

About time people started getting into Blu-rays. Quality is trully amazing, now hopefully the prices go down so i can keep adding to my collection.

Don't understand it, currently a BluRay costs 30 Euro in Saturn. Completely crazy. I would hit everybody who buys that. I love BluRay because it looks amazing but I would never pay more than 20E for a disc. (thanks amazon.co.uk and the weak pound)

You may need the remote for the 360 too, since on the xbox they made you buy the remote to pay the DVD liscensing fee. By putting the liscensing fee on the remote, you reduce the cost of the system by $20.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Me too.

I think the people who don't see the difference have setup their HD signal wrong, or haven't calibrated/setup their TV correctly.

My dad did the same thing, he got HD via Dish Network and used standard A/V cables to his 73" 1080p, so he thought "HD" was a joke... and then when I finally set it up for him via HDMI (along with a BD player), my younger brother jacked with the TV settings to output in 480p after I left.

So... to this day my dad thinks HD is a joke.  I think a lot of uninformed people are like this really.
