Well, the actual numbers are like 12 million on DVD and 2 million on Blu-ray - or something to that affect.

Sweet! Finally a movie worthy enough to use my VHS-to-DVD converter! Hurrah!
Why must JRPG female leads suck so bad?
well i bought the blu ray version and it is freaking sweet. the over all video quality is awesome and i rather like all the special edition stuff. i dont use the digital copy for anything and iam guessing that is part of the high price. however iam not dillusional, i know the dvd will outsell by quite a bit cause of just the pure numbers of dvd players vs bluray
My PSN Name is: EvilChronos add me if u want :)
END OF GENERATION PREDICTIONS "9-21-08"
PS3=130M 360=90M Wii=120M DS=130M PSP=70M
Other Prediction: The PS3 will overtake the 360 XMAS of 09 "9-21-08"
it would be interesting to see the sales figures. even though everyone has a dvd player, everyone also has acess to bootleg versions for like 3 dollars and that could hammer dvd sales
dvd will outsell the blu ray version, but i don't think it will be as big as a margin we think it is. i personally brough the blu ray version and it looks amazing.
Too bad standard DVD darkknight owners are missing out on the glorious IMAX scenes.
Bluray should get around 10-15% of the DVD sales of batman when it's all said and done.
Here are the sale figures as of Dec 17
"According to Warner Bros., the film has sold over 13.5 Million units worldwide, 1.7 million of which are Blu-ray. In comparison, when "The Matrix" came to DVD it sold 780,000 units in its first week, helping create strong future sales for the format. With Blu-ray, The Dark Knight has more than doubled that.
An interesting statistic to ponder is how many of the 1.7 million Blu-rays sold were to PlayStation 3 owners. Hopefully PS3 sales will ultimately be boosted as the high definition format acquires a stronger footing with the mainstream."
