Did anyone else notice, while navigating in this channel, that the pointer accuracy was DEAD ON AND BUTTERY SMOOTH? The "hand" in the Wii Menu seems a bit skippy, and even the precise aiming in Wii Play for the target shooting didn't seem quite this smooth.

absolutely. i thought the same thing myself.

like i said..smooth as ice cream ;) MP3 will show the way to other devs how FPS should control on wii.. the reticule is super smooth and the fact that it runs at a constant 60 fps helps quite a bit.. tons of control options too..if u like the original lock on system u can use it..

on the skippy hand issue thats all the sensor bar..the one u get with the console has limited range..there are much better 3rd party sensor bars available if you look around..the wiimote itself has quite a long range..

I just got back from Gamespot to pay off my reserved copy so I can just come pick it up when it comes out and they had the game box out for display. gives a bit of a heads up on the storyline if you look on the back. The gist of it was this. (spoilers if you're waiting for the game to find out what's going on)

On the back of the box it says that the Galactic federation is under attack from the pirates (which we knew already) but the pirates are being lead by Metroid Prime and Ridley, and they are attempting to corrupt all the planets in the federation by crashing Phazon seeds into them. I guess that's what the big floating thing is at the end, a phazon seed.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

It's really not the sensor bar, because like I said, it's unbelievably smooth in the MP3 preview using the same sensor bar, and it's almost that smooth in Wii Play.  I wonder if the Wii menu software polls the remote less frequently or something to reduce battery usage.
