Should be an Official RROD thread imo.

There should be because no one really cares that anyone elses system RROD but people feel compelled to tell everyone.

Blame it on MS cuz everyone has a right to express there complaint on the faults on such a 'great' system.

Please do not say that again.

The reason is that it's a redundant topic with little room for discussion. The purpose of the board is to create discussion, not for members to blog post. Here is every RROD thread...

OP: I am going to tell a quick and boring story that chronicles that I have an RROD, I was about to get into so and so game and now I feel grrrrr! Hopefully it comes back fast.

Replies: Ok.

The problem with the threads is that they traditionally don't involve any sort of dialogue, but are merely journal entries from the OP. This is why an official thread is needed, so the OPs with little value for forum discussion can now become the discussion itself. If you notice, most members that reply in threads like this have nothing of value to say because there really is nothing more to be said about it outside of the OP.

Yes, and i said you can't blame ppl.

I do see the point, however i was hoping to get some feedback with myself being in Trinidad and all. Most ppl have a clear cut case with fixing and i think if it couldn't be fixed (easily) because of my location I would get a clear answer here. That, is different. Of course in the middle of all this I have contacted MS and awaiting a response.

scene?

I'm mad that my Xbox 360 has not RRoD'd yet. I had one RRoD 3 days before Christmas last year. I returned to the store and got it replaced under the extended warranty but they only had Halo special Edition ones to give me in return.

As much as I love Halo, I dislike the green 360, I'd rather have a white 360 again. I don't think this one will ever RRoD, dammit.

Why not always keep it on? If you never turn the thing off maybe it'll eventually RROD. Now this should have been it's own topic. We could all come up with nifty ways to get your puke green 360 to RROD.

Thats not a half bad idea.  Bet we'd see some creative responces.

hehe....wait for it!!

In your case I realize you had some concerns that could be addressed, but in many cases, it's merely an avenue to bitch. All of the responses to the OPs are the equivalent of telling someone at a funeral "I'm sorry for your loss". There's no discussion involved, just polite quick talk because people feel they need to say something.

The best way to avoid this is to directly ask the members a question. Then you have automatically started a discussion. In your example, having said, "Is anyone familiar with difficulties getting help from Microsoft in my part of the world? I live in Trinidad." would have been a conversation opener instead of just another member bitching about their RROD like VGChartz is their internet diary. I hope you see the difference.

Yup, and I supposed my inexperience with seeing the comprehensive list of tiresome rrod thread has made me less specific. There is a right for both sides really.

Incidentally, I will continue to update this thread so at least we can have a case study of the repair procedure from my location. I suppose I should edit the OP
