Forums - Nintendo Discussion - New Footage of The Conduit !!!

If the conduit doesn't appeal then it's because it lacks what others did right in the case of presentation.

The game seems more like a Sci-Fi channel movie than a cultural phenomina.

I'd say their best bet would have the game deal with Space and present itself in a way that this is about discovery and what we explored. That kind of path would spur imagination, this just seems like a drama. Of course that's just me.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

This game kinda reminds me of Halo 2.

I thought it had more of a perfect dark feel to it, the weapons and movement just remind me of that game for some reason.

Plus i still don't really get the whole "wii" thing.  Do you guys really find it fun when you need to point at the screen or throw the nunchuck around to do certain things.  I can see some hyper little kids having fun with it, but i just don't see it.

Yep.  Actually aiming and tossing adds a lot to the immersion not to mention it's a far, far more precise control scheme than dual analog.  I grew up with Doom and Wolfenstein using a mouse.  Dual Analog seems like such a regression as far as controls go.

You speak of immersion, and maybe I'm alone on this but I just can't get immersed in a ps2 game the way I used to. Technology has updated and HD consoles bring a realness factor that the wii just can't with graphics. You speak of control regression. Well, the wii is graphics regression. Doesn't mean it's not fun, just thought I'd throw that out their as a counter to your excuse that exists and is perfectly true. Now then, if the wii had HD graphics and the third party games to support it, it would by far be the greatest gaming machine this gen and I think no one could argue that.

so you saying the wii graphics took a step back? Funny, it's just about the same, and a little better in some instances. That doesn't classify as regression. "It stood still" is a more valid arguement.

Dual analog however, is definitely a regression as compared to the mouse, however it's the best that can be done with those sought of controls.

I think he is saying regression compared to PS360, not to PS2.

Pesonally, game play/controls > graphics, but I can understand why some would feel graphics > controls.

The 12-30 age group probably prefers graphics, and everyone else controls.  Younger people like their imagination, and once you get older your eyes start to go so graphics doesn't make as much of a difference.   lol

I'm pretty sure we can all agree that gameplay/controls are number one, but i find games with a motion control to be worse then having standard controls.  To me the wii is a step back.

Game journalists overuse the word "Revolutionary"

PC + Wii owners unite.  Our last-gen dying platforms have access to nearly every 90+ rated game this gen.  Building a PC that visually outperforms PS360 is cheap and easy.    Oct 7th 2010 predictions (made Dec 17th '08)
PC: 10^9
Wii: 10^8

Depends on the game.  Games designed around button mashing don't translate well but in other games - Boom Blox, Dewy, Mercury Meltdown, Zack & Wiki, Tiger Woods, MLB 2K9 even, IMO Lara Croft the controls really enhance or make the game.

Awesome! I was REALLY hoping for the grenade thing

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

I can see what you mean now, it depends on the game, i can't remember the name of it, but it was one of the first wii games and by Konami, i don't think that game could of been done on the other systems.

Looks like it controls okay...
