Forums - PC Discussion - The lack of Empire: Total War fanboyism in this site is appaling.

I'd say it's because my comp can't handle it, but it won't be able to handle Starcraft 2 and Diablo III, either.

Never got into the Total War series. Surprised to see Sega's name on it...

I'd be much more excited if:

1. I knew the system specs. I'm not really sure my rig can handle it.

2. More importantly, since #1 is easily rectified, they fix the AI. I've sunk countless hours into Rome and Medieval II, but I just can't stand the Artificial Idiots anymore. The second you start to become more powerful than your neighbors, the weak little bastards start breaking alliances left and right and won't accept a ceasefire for anything. You're pretty much forced to wipe them out, and then your new neighbors as well, etc. etc.

Also, I like the 3D map better in theory, but the AI just can't handle it. At least they're adding a multiplayer campaign, though. I've always wanted that in TW.

Yes, it was delayed.
I think the problem with the hype is that it is a pc game. Pc has no real competition so there's no reason for fanboys to claim "yes it's the best game everrrr!!!", and so on, to make their console look cooler and better then the others.

I'm kind of hyped but not as much as I am for some other games. Dear god do I hope they make Project Origin right, not some crappy port worthy game.

The Empire total war site has the specs there, they are not too bad

I am incredibly excited about it, but the delay has hit my excitement. I for one want to see the trading aspects increased, and now I can play as Great Britain!!!!!

Just out of interest, how many people here just get the computer to play the battles in the main campaign instead of fighting them themselves, I just can't be bothered

I do all the battles myself, it's half the game IMO.

Yeah, I always play the battles myself. Even if it's just clearing out two or three units of bandits.
