What is the all time record for most hardware sold in one year across the world? I suspect it is around 15-25 million units. PS2 would be my guess at this record. This would require sales of 5-8.33 million at least in all three markets (Japan, others, Americas)

I would say the DS for the year of 2006 would be pretty close to a record ... In North America and Europe it sold near to the PS2's best year and outsold the best year of the PS2 in Japan by 3 Million units ...
