Kwaad said: Well the x-box you get achievements by completing stuff within a game. (I think you get some for buying tho too) Wii does NOT have anything in any way similar to achievements. PS3 is obviously getting a virtual room with the ability to put acheivement decorations in it. And It's basically a given that everyone can access it.
That seems kind of sweet. Why are you guys complaining then? I would much rather have that then when you get points you do nothing with them (360). So the Wii doesnt have anything?

what i dont like is how sony handled Kotaku over the revelation of "Home" really makes Sony look bad on top of all of their other bad press. All they had to do was just remain tight-lipped and not comment but they went out and threatened Kotaku if they published the story. Internet story leaks are inevitable and there is nothing that can be done. Look at the 360 and the leaks of info before Microsoft formally unveiled it and now with the HDMI and 120 GB HD. I don't think knowing the basics of "Home" will diminish the actual demonstration of "Home" for Sony in anyway, but they really should have just let it fly as mere rumor instead of indirectly confirming it through their fight with Kotaku. Just more bad press for Sony. w they bashed

It's not out of the ordinary for companies like sony to do stuff like that. I said this once already in this thread. Companies like them are afraid to say anything about being threatened, and remove what made the giant mad. Microsoft does it all the time. It's normal practice. It is NOT normal, for them to fight back. Once again .Sony gets bad press for stuff that always happens. And I'm not positive if the Wii has anything or not. But i haven't ever heard of anything like that at least.

I'd like to see what they do and how they expand on these two concepts. If it's not a blatant ripoff then that's cool with me. Personally there is always a battle. One as alot of people here did, you get mad to see a big company ripping off other peoples ideas, BUT at the same time when an idea gets big and the audience adopts the concept, I find that I and the audience get annoyed when they don't ripoff the idea, but by then they no longer call it ripping off they call it, an 'industry standard'. For example if Nintendo anounced full blown online service for the Gamecube right after X-box Live came out, everyone would have said they ripped off Microsoft, yet since they hardly ever bothered with online everyone got mad they didn't conform to the standard. So the bottom line is Sony is watching their competitors and staying competitive. So I only hope they expand this concept further, maybe they'll push Microsoft to do more with their achievement concept, and push Nintendo to do more with the Miis(perhaps add an expanded Mii channel or more variations, maybe shirt logos, maybe have the Miis answer questions build a personality of sorts and apply it to game play.) Either way if you like these ideas the bottom line is they can only get better if more companies push them, Sony included.

Except for getting messages (appearing daily) in your message box when a character "achieves" something (i.e. a gold medal for boxing in Wii Sports). My Wii message box is littered with these posts. But hey, I guess you are right... these can't be anything to do with achievements

I don't know what you're smoking my Mii parade has over 800 Mii's in it. This thing sounds like it could be cool if implemented correctly but I wish Sony would come up with new ideas instead of just improving on others'.

Bad thing is that Sony will end up adding something that will give it this geek feeling.

thats fan boy talk you don know how they will implement everything
