I don't know how the ads on this site work... if it's somehow based on my history* or everyone sees the same things... but in the last few minutes I've seen ads for:

Da Vinci Hysterectomy (Their tag: "Not your mother's hysterectomy") and MyRetirementShop.com

I mean, what the hell?  I know that the Wii's bringing in people from every walk of life, but is it really time for these kinds of ads on a gaming site? :)

Also... trying to play up the cool factor in hysterectomies?  Really, Da Vinci?

* If these ads are somehow based on me, then I'm guessing that whatever algorithm is kinda screwed up... I haven't once considered getting a hysterectomy since being born with a penis.

They are targeting the older demographic of the Wii's audience. That is how ads work--they are supposed to annoy or attract attention. In your instance, I'm afraid, they have succeeded in both.
