I don't mind 3 or 4 discs, what i don't like is that devs fit everything in 1 DVD because Microsoft says so... What if one DVD is not enough??? That's another thing i hate about MS...

Wow, link? I call BS.

That was said a long time ago on this site, that Microsoft charges a fee for 360 games with more than one disc... Correct me if i'm wrong then i'll retract myself.

No, I think you got that all wrong. Isn't it usually the developer that has to include more cost in the development because it will require more people to work on this multiple disc stuff (how to make the game still work after you swap disc, etc.)? I'm sure MS has nothing to do with it. I bet it's just how publishing goes, really.

Well if you check the news archive on VGC you will find an interview with some guy from id software where he said that M$ charges for discs past the second one.

Would you prefer it to be on the PS3, on 3 BD discs, or not on the PS3 at all?

The point is, it's such an insignificant small advantage that the PS3 has, but since it is an advantage, you guys try to play it up like its a major thing. That's my only problem with the situation. I don't think anyone would actually deny that it's happening... :P

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

That's a stupid reply. The best for you would be not to make such useless posts.

It won't come on Blu-ray anytime soon, probably never so deal with it.

If anything multidisk probably makes some people think that the game is better and will add to sales. Really it just means more cutscenes.

Saying the reply is stupid does not make it so, at least add substance to your insults. SO4 comes from a franchise which is anything but big, simply pathetic this game now has so much hype. I can play it on 360 but that simply does not change the fact I dont like multiple discs, blu ray discs for me.

Multiple discs has never bothered me in the past, but there has always been 1 thing about multiple discs I have always hated.

You always know when your coming up near the end of the game once you reach that final disc.

When you do not have to switch discs you have no idea when the end is coming near, unless you sit around with a strategy guide on your lap.

No idea if this happens with just me, but I always liked one disc. Of course though if I had to choose 3 discs ior no game at all, I would take the 3 discs in a heart beat.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

lol ever read my third sentence ? I guess not.

If you love Blu-ray so much, why not trying to burn those 3 DVDs on one Blue-ray disc and put it into a PS3. It might work....

Also, for action games running out of space, making extra tracks or multiplayer maps download content seems to work. It also seems to beneficial to developers (Gears 2). Gives DLC freebies that don't fit on the disk to people who buy the game new. I'm sure MS loves people getting used to downloading content from XBLM. Hook them on freebies then introduce the premium DLC.

With the exception of MGS4, I think DVD vs Bluray has proved to be a non issue this gen. Don't devs has to compensate for the slow speed of bluray by putting content on the disk multiple times and force installs? Actually, I think the relevant issue is that the 360 is much louder than the PS3 due to the faster drive (among other things). So bluray is best for movies and quietness.
