Well ,it has already 2 million sold (not shipped ,but sold ) ,and will end march with probably some 3.5 million sold ....X360 managed 4.5 million sold by end september .Its obvius its selling well ,issue is it is selling worse than the Wii and less than the PS2 7 years ago....

Ok great now I know why you comparing the Xbox360 and PS3, and not including Wii at least. I think it was you that started the nice thread about which nex gen consol will win christmas 2008 without including Wii. Yes you have the right for a personal opinion, but when you starts using the data you want to prove that PS3 is selling great, without including some of the competition, or at least looking at the system PS3 is thought to replace I must say that you will get counter arguments. Final thought: As I said before PS3 is trailing behind the GC, and actuly now when I look I see that it is trailing behind PSP (1 158 250 after 16 weeks) also. Two system that isn't know for their great succes in Japan. GC is around 4 millions today, PSP is around 5 millions. How can that be good sales?

Comparing the Playstation to the PS3 is foolish because the Playstation launched against the Saturn (an expensive game console with literally no games for a company with a reputation of ending systems early) and had 18 months to build marketshare before their strongest competition (N64) entered the market. No the thread was with regard to " Sony PS3 vs Microsoft XBox 360", asking which one people thought will sell more during upcoming christmas 2007. BTW the poll result based on 305 votes was 33% for the XBox 360 and 66% for the PS3. At AmigaWorld I wrote: "The Nintendo Wii is doing amazingly well all around the globe, although the PS3 has some overlapping features with the Wii such as motion sensing abilities and an integrated webbrowser, there seems to be much more overlap between the XBox 360 and PS3, mostly with regard to gameplay, some services and high definition graphics." That's what I like. I don't know everything, neither do I own a crystal ball to look into the future. I value additional opinions and discuss them. I think it's still too early to tell how well the PS3 performs for the long run. The GC and PSP IMO are not in the same price league, and the PSP is a portable handheld console.

I want more PS3 supporters on these forums. Well intelligent ones at least. We need more PS3 fans like Staticneuron and less of the Washimuls and Kwaad''s around here. I disagree with Static more often than not, but I like the fact that he makes a point. Supports that point with facts, and actually sites his sources. You should try that sometimes Kwaad. You like to use a lot of anecdotal evidence and then get upset when someone disproves your point with verifiable evidence.

No we are not stating that PS3 blows and it will fail. We are talking about the actual numbers sales numbers that is posted on this site. Those numbers shows that PS3 is not performing as well as it should compared to its ancestors. The PS1 that blow the market away from Nintendo and PS2 that is a beast in sales. The truth is that Sony for the moment isn't performing very good in either USA or Japan. Since launch in USA PS3 hasn't for one month sold more than xbox360. How should they retake the lead in USA if they are 4.4 million behind? Comparing Wii and PS3 gives the same results (but with a much smaller lead for Wii, 700k, that could easily be over taken). In Japan Wii has sold almost 3:1 compared to PS3 the last 6 weeks. The closest PS3 has been to Wii is 37500(week ended 12/17 - 2006), whatever you state that isn't good sales. If it was Wii that did those numbers I wouldn't have been surprised I would have been shoked that Wii actuly could stay so close to the mighty Playstation. Reason for the states above could for me only be the price and that Blu-ray is not that important yet. PS3 might get much better sales next year, but how big lead will xbox360 and Wii have then?
