Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Still Think Wii Can Reach 50% Marketshare By End of 08?

I have it at 48.7% by the end of 5 weeks. Of course, that's if the systems sold the same for the next 5 weeks.

If the system hit 47million sold, then it will be at 49.5%

People who thought it would some months ago (my thread) didn't make math errors, they just didn't assume, like pretty much ANYONE here, that the 360 would be selling so well the last quarter of the year. They believed the PS3 would stay as it is and the 360 would sell below it like it did pretty much all year.

At this point it's very unlikely it will reach 50%. Not Impossible, just very unlikely.

Quoted so I can laugh at you later

Actually, I'm going to laugh at you now.

It gained 0.9% market share in November. It also cut 1 million off the PS360-Wii difference (only 2.7 million to go)

It will reach 50% very soon

So, instead of quoting some one who actually saidit was "imposbile" you quote me who said it was "improbable"? Nice job. Sure it's around .9% a month. But it still has 1.7% to go, nearly double what it did in November.

I think Wii Sports Resort will do the job

Currently Playing:

Wii: Mario Kart Wii, Wii Sports Resort

Xbox360: Fifa 2009, Halflife 2 Episode 2

Want to play:
Wii: Lego Indiana Jones, SMG2
Xbox360: MW2

I think there may have been confusion as to what you meant by "it's very unlikely it will reach 50%." I'd agree with you that it's improbable that will happen by the end of '08, which is what this thread is about. Perhaps scottie thought you meant it will never reach that point, which at this point it would be laughable to say it's very unlikely. Obviously there's no guarantee that it will either, but "very likely" would probably fit that situation better.
