Forums - Sony Discussion - The Official Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 thread

Hi ^^ . I'm Playing now at the Final Dungeon " Magatsu Town " and I'm at
World 3 AKA 3rd floor I'm stuck at the the boss who the " culprit " summon
after I continue in the world without encountering any Shadows .
The boss is one of those monster who has a Key Inside their stomach
it keep summoning monsters all the time I cant kill it , every time I'm about
to kill it keep summoning monsters and I'm running out of SP ..

My level is 65 .. Help !!

The key is to prepare a powerful attack in one turn with everyone, not attack blindly
My suggestion is to use Mind/Power charge and then kill everyone in the next turn with an "all enemies" attack. If you use Naoto, then Mind Charge+Megidolaon wipes everything, if not, you should use some area attack with the MC like Akasha Arts after doing Power Charge. Also, the turn before, prepare with Matarukaja and Rakunda or Marakunda, and if you're gonna use physical attacks with someone, then do Rebellion

It took me some time to win that battle, I wasted a lot of SPs in that one till I finally realized what to do, that fight is really annoying. But it gives a lot of EXP if you take your time

Cool I was thinking maybe there is another way hell I'm out of SP right now
I well try it though . Thanx and hey " Happy new Year " :)

I can see why people like this game.

It only took 3 hours of cutscene watching and text scrolling to get to the actual gameplay.

Woo hoo.

If the whole game is going to be like this, Persona 5 should just be an anime.

Humorously enough there already was an Anime....it was pretty good too.

Anyway, just think of it like this WoW, you just got through the only bad part of the game for me, and 3 hours our of a 60 hour game is not much. I know it's a slow starter, but 57 hours of awesome JRPG await you.

Right now it seems so-so.

Complaints so far...

1)  Starting combat sucks.  The main character's attack is too slow to spam and a distant camera mean that I don't always hit the enemy before it hits me.

2)  No rest spots in the other world.  So... I have to leave to fully recover HP/SP.  Time to stock up on SP items.

3)  Meaningless dialog options.  Too many of them do absolutely nothing.  You get maybe one canned response and then you can immediately tell dialog shifts back to whatever they were going to say regardless of what you said.  I'd rather just continue on with the story than pause to answer those.  For every one that gives you something, there are like 12 that don't do anything.

My favorite moment in the game so far was the decision after joining the Basketball club though.  Your two options are:

Help out.
Be an ass and leave.

That made me laugh.  ^_^

Your complaints are understandable, you'll get used to no.1 though. And for no. 2 it's a staple of the series that you can't spend an indefinite amount of time in the dungeons in a single outting. In Persona 3 your characters actually got tired after a time and became less useful, in Persona 4 it is mainly done by not giving you any means to recover SP at first.

I really didn't worry about no.2 for a while, and I think it's best to simply use your SP as a gauge for when you are done exploring the TV world for the day. On average it usually took me 3 trips to get through any given dungeon. SP items cost a surprising amount, so it may just be your best bet to not use that tactic.

Okay, so I've played it a bit more (I'm to 5/1)...

Starting combat is still a pain.  I try to run behind the enemy then quickly turn and slash.  Sometimes it gets me a first strike, sometimes it doesn't... other times I miss (since I'm facing the camera) and get hit myself.

Lack of SP is still a problem but I may have solved it.  I was messing around with fusing and saw one named Sarasvati in the list but then forgot how I saw it.  Today I spent a little bit messing around and finally found her again.  At level 19 she gains the +5 SP per turn ability.  She comes at level 17 though so I need to wait for the next dungeon to get that ability but I'm thinking it'll solve my problems... or at least help them.

I also have Growth 1 on 4 of my Personas so as long as one of them isn't fighting, I'm effectively getting 200% EXP in every battle.

My Persona list so far is:  Sarasvati (17), Cu Sith (11), Sylph (11), Lilim (11), Izanagi (10), and Nata Taishi (7).

Any advice?
