Forums - Gaming Discussion - Planning to buy Xbox 360 or Wii...Few questions.

Hmm...I don't know how eBay would work here in Finland...

And I have played only Tales of eternia on PSP,so I'm not so into it...And reviews say Tales for Wii is bad.

"(All Ninty Titles, No More Heroes, Red Steel, Zach and Wiki, Boom Blox, etc) and you have a huge library of GCN titles you can pick up as well as the Virtual Console and WiiWare."
This is pretty bullshit... :P

"go to a retail store like EB or Gamestop and buy an Xbox Live time card. It comes with a code you input online to give you the time. You can get 13 months for $60."

Hmm what can you do with it besides play online?

Well, if you have a PS3, get a Wii, if you don't, get a 360.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

If you're a real gamer...buy the console that fits in your gaming tastes.

Both are good and that's a very personal issue. I love the wii and I would only buy the xbox360 for one game only (or 2 maybe). But there are others that think the opposite.

You can play in other people's console before deciding. In any case, remember to buy it for yourself. Not what others would think or like. ok?

enjoy!

Which you should choose really depends on what types of games you are into.

I like some of the features of the Wii but to be honest, I don't care as much for the Wii mote as some of you do. I think after you play it for a little while you end up just wanting a regular gamepad. The Wii really is fun for parties and such however, nothing like having a bunch of your drunk friends swinging wii-motes around.

The 360 has a lot of different types of games including a large selection of JRPG's. I think for the overall library I would side with the 360. It also has a great online setup with Live. You can buy 13 month live subscriptions on ebay for $30-38 bucks fairly easily. If you live in the United States, Live also allows you to stream Netflix movies and to me this is a really nice feature. I have been streaming more movies over the last week or 2 than play games. You can also buy a refurbished 20GB hard drive for around $20 from M$. Hope this helps you make a choice. Either system is good so you can't make a bad choice.

First:Which one?

For Xbox 360:Well I wanna play Tales of vesperia,Lost Odysseus and Gears 2.I'm gonna ask it for christmas present,so maybe I get it maybe I don't.I don't care so much, just don't have anything else to ask.

So,what you miss if you buy Arcade, not Pro model?

How you pay for Xbox live if you don't have credit card and are under 18 years old?

How to avoid that frikkin Red ring of death?

For Wii:I wanna try it,and gonna get Super Smash Bros Brawl,Zelda,Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid prime 3.Again I'm gonna ask it for christmas present,so maybe I don't get it,maybe I will.

The Pro has a hard disk in the box, the Arcade doesn't. You can always buy it separately, tho. Without a hard disk you won't have room to store demos, you'll have limited room for games distributed through Live (like Geometry Wars, Braid, etc) and you won't be able to install games to the hard disk (which means the disc doesn't get worn, the disc drive will last longer, also no jet-like sound coming from your 360 while you play).

As for paying for live, stores sell cards with codes for both points (which you use to buy games, themes, etc) and the Gold subscription (which is what you need to play online).

The best you can do to avoid the RROD is buying a jasper and placing your 360 in a well ventilated place.

As for the Wii, I say it's worth just for Galaxy and Zelda and whatever else is a bonus... but I'm probably in the minority there.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

Being a PSWii owner makes more sense to me than a PS360 one... so.. it's obvious.

I would get the 360, the new jasper model got rid of the rings of death for good.
Gears and lost oddessy rock! I never played tales but heard it's very good. Also the 360 comes with a microphone.
You can just get a xbox live card from 7-eleven and on that card will be a code. You can use that code to get months or years of xbox live.

This. Oh, and don't listen to reviews about ToS.

And this... revewers really had douchey excuses for giving it mediocre scores...

If you have a PS3, get a Wii.
