Forums - Sales Discussion - Sony...why do you do this to me...

The price does matter but there's a point to where it doesn't. If Sony drops the price right now, they will be in huge trouble and can be in danger of destroying the whole company. I finally realized that they should just make money off these exclusives they have now and in 2009 and then in late 09 make a price cut.

You can get a blu ray player at walmart for $128, so there's even less of a reason to get a ps3

Maybe, but it doesn't top the ps3's bluray. My sisters bluray which was $400 earlier this year loads like shit compared to the ps3's bluray.

OMG!!! PS3 is doomed!!!

Or not...

Sony just can't afford a price cut right now. That's life, get over it. I don't care if there is any price cut at all or if Sony ends on third place this gen, I already have a PS3 and a 360 and I enjoy them both.

Sony does this because they know they can better serve their customers while in buisness.

Really the sales gaps are nothing to worry about. PS3 is still selling extreamly well, its just that 360 and Wii are selling amazing numbers. This is nothing like last generation. Each console has a very strong user base and they are all very important to third parties success. With that said, PS3 owners need not worry about how well the system does from here on out.

The most important thing for PS3 is SCE making money. SCE publishes the best games on the system, and if they are not making money then we are in a world of hurt. In time the price will come down, and more people will jump on board, and experiance the most entertaining device avialible on the market. At the moment price cutting, and sales are the least of Sony's concerns. I say let the make back some money tell September of 09, and then they can launch the slim PS3 with a entry price of $299.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

Sony why did you kick Sega out of the console business and reduce Nintendo to 15% of the market 10 years ago?

Maybe Nintendo and Sega were stupid and arrogant and had no long term vision... Isn't it possible that the same thing has happened to Sony?

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

People are stupid to complain about 200 extra. Work 2 hours overtime a day and you'll have enough to pay the difference in a damn week or two.

I wouldn't be so dramatic about it but yeah... ps3 is not going to be the monster ps2 and ps1 were.

In more positive news, ps3 is getting lots of good games so it really doesn't matter if they lose sales numbers to 360.

Sega is to blame, not Sony. Much like what's happening to Sony now is Sony's fault.
