Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Wii games with superior graphics than Xbox 360, or Playstation 3 games

Don't forget the PC entry PS30wner :D

Right now I can't think of a Wii game that looks better than a X360/PS3... it might be possible, but I don't see it happening soon.

Killzone Ps2 graphics look better then Wiis Metroid.

Hey, now that I was checking screenshot recently, for some reason the Wii screenshots look all blurry... I don't remember GC screenshots to look so blurry, not even PS2's.. it seems like they took them directly from the screen using a camera, rather than using something like FRAPS etc...

Anyone knows why? Nintendo isn't providing gamesites with a way to take screenshots directly?

Yeah, PS2 gfx rock...

....

For some reason (probably the visor reflections), Metroid in-game shots tend to look pretty crap. The game looks a lot better in motion. Check out some of the screenshots from Metroid 1 on the GC - they look horrible, yet the game looked great:

It's possible that post-processing effects make it difficult to get direct, pixel-for-pixel screenshots for some Gamecube and Wii games.  The Metroid Prime series makes heavy use of post-processing effects, and even screenshots of MP from a Gamecube have the blurry look you're talking about.  But of course, if you've played it, you know how much better it actually looks on a TV.

There are screenshots of Wii games that don't look blurry, just check out the Smash Bros. Dojo.  It's easy to see the vast improvements they've made over Melee.

yes, a game like Godfather, which is actually a last gen port, will look worse than AAA titles on the Wii, but not the big guns, it's not technically possible. not as many textures, models, particles, polygons, etc are possible. so yes, some games, but make appropriate comparisons.

Here, finally found two screens to compare. First, is the GC version of RE4, we have a super crispy image.

Now we have the Wii version, that looks super... blurry for some reason, even when my guess is that this version looks way better.

Don't be delusional, guys. Mario Galaxy, Metroid and Brawl graphics are very good, but the're nowhere near the Xbox-PS3 tier.

(out of topic) Lair's been delayed :(

Yeah Wii sports. I'm joking Wii sports looks horrible.

Unreal Engine can't run on the Wii

Epic does not offically support the Unreal Engine 3on the Wii.

Red Steel used the Unreal Engine 2.5

If Ubisoft and Lucasarts can shrink the Unreal Engine 2.5 on the PSP, I dont see any reason why UE 3 cannot be implemented on the Wii. It might take some time, but it should be possible, Nintendo couold work out a deal with epic and lend them a few personnel to port UE 3 to the nintendo SDK.

Heeeeyyyy!!!! <Snap>
