Even with the boosts from game releases I think that Sony will average between 80k and 100k PS3 systems sold per week woldwide from now until Black Friday; this means the PS3 will break 5 Million between the second week in October and the first week in November.

That's funny because the price cut happened 3 weeks ago, not 4... And sales have been going down, not steady.

The difference between doing 80k/week and 100k/week is actually pretty big, it is the difference of taking 10 or 13 weeks to get another 1M sold. And considering the pricedrop was only 3 week ago PS3 still needs to prove it can maintain sales of above 40k for a longer period of time.

still hanging to the mid october.... but LGC and TGS can make the difference for any of the 3 actors.... wait and see 2 month to go and the road will be way clearer to make a guess.... and then the second big moment to make a guess on the long run will be january mid february... well we can make a guess before but it's where the trend until christmas 2008 will be fixed.. IMO ........if any of the consoles fails by then even blockbuster releases won't change the tendency to close an eventual big gap before the next holiday season....

^ i'm mainly talking about PS3/360.... WII is not following the same process... the only real determinant will be 360/PS3 fight and the 360 alone.... because they can get market shares on both front if they play it right.....
