I don't think you understand what you are seeing are advertisements. The blades had ads too, occasionally. Just a banner ad for a new game or something. I'm sure you saw them. NXE is that times 10. Ads for games, movies, random shit people paid them to put up like Subway.

They have 3 channels devoted to nothing but advertisements: Spotlight, Inside Xbox, and Events. Of course there are tons in the Marketplace and Netflix as well, though those at least are slightly reasonable since you should be advertising in a sales section.

All of this is nothing but useless intrusive clutter.  It makes it harder to navigate to the things that matter.  Do you not consider a banner about buying a game on gamefaqs an ad?  This is no different.  There are just a lot more.

Could someone give me examples of ads that they are having trouble with? Because I quite honestly have yet to run into them. Besides the Subway one.

*headache* Ads for movies/TV/Video games are ads too... and there was one section just full of movie/TV ads I'm sure you're not blind...

Those are not really ads.  They are saying, "Hey look what we added to the marketplace."  And I believe the section you are referring to is something along the lines of a "Whats New" section.  Possibly even in the Video Marketplace section as well.  Which makes absolute sense.

Oh so ads are not really ads if it's advertising something in the "what's new" section... and no ads have no place anywhere in a paid program, now if I click on the netflix option and get options of "featured" "newest" and "most popular" that's fine instead of them shoved in my face on the videos section

MaxwellGT2000 - "Does the amount of times you beat it count towards how hardcore you are?"

Wii Friend Code - 5882 9717 7391 0918 (PM me if you add me), PSN - MaxwellGT2000, XBL - BlkKniteCecil, MaxwellGT2000

Here's the test. Get someone who is unbiased and who hasn't touched the Wii/PS3/360 before. Tell them to go to videos, music,Store,Games etc. Ask them what was easiest to navigate and straightforward. They'd prolly say Wii interface or the PS3 xmb.

k, I just logged on to see exactly what the deal is.  Here goes.

Here are the sections:

Events - Displays upcoming events like playing with GamerChics, developers, etc.  No ads at all.

Spotlight - A collection of new content that has been added to the marketplace.  A place for people to go to see if anything as been added since they last got on.

Game Marketplace - The first selection is to go the the game marketplace.  All the things to the right are things that have been added or are popular, except for 1 iPhone ad.  You do not even have to view these things to go to the marketplace.  Once you are in the marketplace, absolutely no ads.

Video market - Same as Game Marketplace except with no iPhone ad.

Inside XBox - Collection of game specific information and video such as Major's Minute, Strategy tips, etc.  No ads.

To get to whatever content you are looking for does not require you to scroll through any ads whatsoever.  The selections to the right are optional and for people looking to see if they have added anything since the last visit.

EDIT: Excuse me.  It is actually an Instinct ad that features a comparison with the iPhone.  It pictures both on the ad.

I think I'm going to dump cable TV, the local newspaper, stop going to the movies, riding public transit, as well as going to sports arenas. They show ads also.

Is like the new window office. Very easy to use but people were not ready for this change...

overall nxe, i dont call it nxe as its just a dash update but for this instance il call it nxe so users know what im talking about.

overall nxe looks nice and thats where it ends.

the best feature for me is a quicker blades system and quicker navigation of the blades which includes better messeging.

if u notice when u go into market place and other places u will find urself hitting B button to many times to get back to normal, its not rearranged very well.

the mii ripp offs are a joke, the customisation of them, well there is no customisation u just choose set pieces of stuff which in turn will have 1000`s of avatars looking exactly the same.

installing games, i only have a 20 gig, with 12gig spare so i wont be needing that, netflix wont be out in EU.

a console dash is all about navigation, and this is where xmb rules

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Okay, now I know you are bullshitting me:
Mii's ARE 6 linked circles with slightly human features.

You really have no idea what you are talking about.  Miis have far more facial feature possibilities because you can actually adjust them.

I think it evens out in the end, because the Miis have no customization options outside of the facial regions and the height/weight adjustments. Clothes, even a basic setup would have come in handy. Even the ability of a range of colors for your basic long sleeve shirt/pant combo would have been welcome.

I agree that Miis aren't that Customizable and that they are not better than avatars, its personal choice. I do agree with Naz that NXE is full of advertisements but i couldn't care less, since everytime i turn on my xbox i know what i want to do and what i want to play. Also you forgot to mention the best part of NXE: the install option, which reduces loading times and NOISE. The Wii may have the best interface, but its the one that takes the longest to load, and i hate loading times.

He even stands like a prick.

Yeah, I was wondering why they ALL stand like that.  Anyone who has played WiiFit knows that standing like that will lead to poor posture... and cancer. ;)

Numbers are like people. Torture them enough and you can get them to say anything you want.

VGChartz Resident Thread Killer

Actually the most annoying thing about the avatars is their wave!
