Yet another trip to Circuit City, and I wasnt suprised I knew it was to be expected, there were easily 10 PS3s in the store, I can say there were as many GC's as there were PS3s. The place wasn't flooded with the console.
(Also got to see the new JackRabbit, amazing, hopefully I will get it for chrismas)
Now for the PS3 experience, before I actually went to play it I saw a WOMAN with her kid having fun, it was like the kid which was 4 years old wasnt even interested in video games, but the woman got the six axis, and forced him to play. I was shocked the woman seemed very old, but it was ok, she was getting the kid to play video games.
So I decided to let them play the PS3, and I checked out the box for the PS3, I wanted to see what exactly on the PS3 attracts consumers, is it the box? Well let me just say, it certainly isnt the box (despite seeing a tokelauan woman with her husband looking at the PS3s box for nearly half an hour, yes half an hour this is no exaggeration) out of the 3 consoles the PS3s box is just horrid, I understand Sony isnt trying with the box with any games, since the thing is selling so bad they can't afford a better one, but still it should be nice. The box black like Sony's soul and felt like it was made of very bad/cheap material.
So I decided to play guitar hero 3(Wii), and a man walked by and asked me, so rockband or guitar hero, I said Wii Music for family (they hadnt received world tour yet). The man then told me a very FUNNY, and ironic statement,I heard it's barely selling, thats one of the reasons i'm not buying it. Guess what I thought of at that moment? Your right the PS3..
So I went to play the PS3, game inside was Ridge RAcer. I am going to say, the PS3 has dissapointed me, out of the 3 consoles, the PS3s menu system is by far the worse, by far the most cluttered, by far the worst organized. I went on to Ridge Racer to play, and the controls were deppressing, the gameplay wasnt even close to being fun(Id rather play Pulse Racer for DAYS than play RidgeRacer), the pathetic use of six axis was so horrid, I had to chance it to analog control, and it didnt help much at all. I couldnt play the PS3, I thought to myself no wonder people aren't buying it!
I went to the PS3 section, it was desolate, only 1 person I can say buying a PS3, buying "LBP", "Lair", and "Haze", I was very sad to see this, it was playing the same exact thing the man and the kid were playing, it was just horrible.
Im going to say this, so far out of my experience in gaming, the PS3 has been the worst console Ive ever played in my life, I went on to the XBOX 360, and I liked it, didnt like the dashboard, but I liked it, the game I played (GEARS 2) was fun, it looked good, it was a great experience, despite my hate for microsoft, it made me want to buy a console from them. The PS3 just made me want to go away into a corner, and cut myself.
Why are people not buying it? Why are people not enjoying it? Is it because its sucks that they are not buying it? Is it because its being hyped as the best thing? I know WHAT is pushing people away from the PS3.
So with this I say, my PS3 experience in Circuit City was not a good one.
My XBOX 360 experience in best buy was a great one
MY Wii experience in best buy was a good one
MY DS experience in best buy was a good one
MY PSP experience in BEST buy was horrible, honestly I tried to play FF VII CC, but YOU CANT SKIP THE FREAKING INTO CUTSCENE, I was so bored by it, I wanted to get to the gampleay, and the gameplay seemed so repetitive, you press X a million times without even looking and there you won the battle.
So thats just my opinion on what I experienced, maybe you guys like the PS3 for something, or its your only console and have yet to experience something that might actually be better(atleast in my opinion, and in my experience).
