Forums - Website Topics - Why don't you use the "My Codes" feature on this site?

Ok, now I don't play a lot online with other people, but I do know that Talonman put a lot of hard work into the codes feature of this site. But I keep on seeing threads like "Official FC thread for game X" or people posting their gamertag/psnid in their sig.

Each Wii/DS game that uses FC's has the ability to store your FC right on the game page. And then when you go into the Owners section of the game, it lists everyone's FC. Also, you can click on someone's profile, you can see all their codes/tags/id's on the right and above their game collection.

Not only this, but if you use the VGChartz sigs, your console code/tag/id can be displayed right on the sig as shown below

So why don't you use the codes feature on this site?

i use it.

vgchartz card need some work.

I put my FC's into the game pages as soon as I can get the chance to do it. However, the exception is Animal Crossing (Even for that I put in my FC into the game page. I think I'm still the only one...), which requires both your name and the name of your town, as well as the FC.

Official Smeags Announcement:

So yeah, I definitely agree that we should take advantage of the FC codes, and even put in our games collection if we haven't taken care of that yet. Let's get the basics down guys.

Some games, like Animal Crossing, require more information than just the code.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Before you can add friend codes to a Wii/DS game, a game admin has to turn on the capabilities.

If a game doesn't have the FC option, just use the report option to request someone turn it on.

You should be good to go now. There are only 2 wii games I know of that the FC system on this site doesn't work for. Medal of Honor didn't use the FC system, and Animal Crossings also asks for a town name, so it isn't ideal.

I just hate the friend code system entirely I cannot make the effort to add anyone, so seems rather pointless adding my friend codes since it requires both to add.

Did I add my PSN iD?

Edit: yes I did, but no little code thing uder my avatar...

The "My Codes" item only shows up if someone else aquired your code by clicking aquire in your profile.

I use it, especially for the just released Call of Duty on Wii. But yeah, most people ignore the feature.

I havn,t a clue how to use it sorry.

It took me 2 days to sort out my new gamercard so I will probably leave well enough alone.

Cause I am lazy and don't feel like adding more
